Staying consistent at a tolerable dose beats a higher number that keeps making you stop. The GI load at the ceiling dose ends up costing more time than the lower stable option saves.
I love seeing people using multiple tools for their health journeys. It's inspiring! I've been doing a few things besides the medication itself, too. I rely on a food scale to make sure I'm measuring things accurately when I prep my meals, and I've been taking progress pictures to keep myself...
Just kidding. I don't care for chain pizza. We have some mom and pop pizza shops that are great. Yes I live in Florida. Our pizza is not like up north.
It's an acquired taste for many. If your chocolate is a sweet dessert with bad fat and a lot of sugar, then real chocolate will be unpleasant.
That's what got us here in the first place. We became addicted to foods that overpower hunger and satiety. We never enjoyed traditional foods.
So, are you saying that GLP users buy chocolate more often than the rest of the population, even after they start the meds?
People who have trouble limiting sweets still want what they love while dieting?
I don't believe it. I began Reta a couple of months ago. I haven't had chocolate, candy...
The low-fat people will disagree, but very dark chocolate (85%+) is healthy (aside from the heavy metal concerns). Even without GLPs, you can't overeat it. Also its fat profile has a lot of stearic acid.
I totally get the nerves, Cut_Grind. I was scared to do the first injection too! I put it off for days. But honestly, it wasn't that bad. Just take a deep breath and do it. You got this!
Read through the other posts here, Cut_Grind. Lots of good tips. I suggest getting apps to track your shots, food, and exercise. Also, check out that Glp1meals sub for food ideas when you're not feeling hungry.
For anyone just starting out, don't get discouraged if progress feels slow. Sometimes the biggest changes are the ones you don't notice right away. Like how your clothes fit! That was a big motivator for me.
You look incredible! Are you incorporating any strength training into your routine? I've lost a decent amount myself, and focusing on building lean muscle has been really beneficial. Apparently it helps with a ton of stuff.
