It's so worth it! Still on my way...

194 to 152 since May with the energy and mental side improving is the compound result - the physical change usually lands first, then the mental piece catches up over the following months.

Healthy food gross now, junk food ok?

Six weeks is still in the adjustment window - the suppression often overshoots early and most people find the food aversion normalizes over the following month. Getting protein in from whatever sounds tolerable is the practical move for now.

GLP-1s: Feels like a total rebirth!

Jumping from 5 to 6mg when 5 felt unremarkable is the right call - the dose ladder is supposed to be responsive, not just a fixed schedule. Friday will show whether the 6 actually moved the metabolic lever.

7 Months on Semaglutide - My Story

That's a good idea, ShapePath. I've read about people regaining weight after stopping abruptly. Slow and steady wins the race! Maybe I should up my dose.

7 Months on Semaglutide - My Story

Hi ShapePath, what dosage are you taking? I'm only on 0.25mg and haven't noticed much of a change yet.

    GLP-1 patent expiration?

I saw an article about how some weight loss meds might actually help prevent certain cancers. I'm not sure I trust it completely, but it's interesting. Wonder if anyone else has seen anything like that?

GLP-1s: Worth it for smaller weight loss?

There's a thread on Reddit where someone lost 100lbs. Everyone is asking how long it took. It's really inspiring, check it out if you need a boost! It goes to show that slow and steady is fine -- it's a marathon, not a sprint.

    GLP-1 patent expiration?

I'm shelling out $600 monthly because I'm a type 2 diabetic, and my insurance doesn't cover it at all. With the increase in insurance premiums coming up in 2025, I had to stop taking it back in December since I couldn't afford it anymore. I've gained around 15 pounds already, and I feel awful...

    GLP-1 kicking my butt...

Constipation is a very common issue with these medications. I often recommend my patients increase their water intake to at least 3 liters a day, and incorporate more fiber, especially vegetables like green beans and zucchini.

GLP-1s: Worth it for smaller weight loss?

I shed around 45 pounds in a year using 0.5mg sema. That was mostly what I wanted, though I'd be pretty happy to lose another 10. It seems to be just as effective. I could have sped things up by increasing the dose, but I didn't want to lose too quickly. I feel great now :)

    Mounjaro - Hunger coming back?

I do my shot on Thursdays. By Saturday, that food noise is almost gone. It starts to come back around Tuesday evening.

    GLP-1 kicking my butt...

It took me a whole year to get to 5 mg. Some people respond strongly to lower doses. Your doctor needs to be more flexible unless this is an urgent A1C issue where 5 mg is essential. Diarrhea and constipation can cause serious problems.

    Mounjaro - Hunger coming back?

2.5 isn't a therapeutic dose, and you don't have any stored in your system yet. Keep your expectations realistic.
