Spacing out doses?

My friend ditched the weight she needed to and now only does a maintenance shot once a month. This stuff isn't a short-term thing—it's meant for the long haul. When I hit my goal, that's my plan too. She looks perfect and does fine on just that monthly dose.

love the before and after! it really is about calories huh. walking keeps me from being a couch potato. your weight lifting is obvious in the shape though—gonna focus on that too.

depending on tolerance and budget, you can take 30mg with about 2300 units safely. split daily that's roughly 164 units per pin. typical dosing math puts that solid for most people. personally wouldn't want daily injections but if the situation called for it, i'd keep it around.

So, I'm on a GLP-1, and the usual is to dose every week. But with the new eating habits and a focus on cutting calories, I wonder if I could wait like, 9 or 10 days between doses? My doctor wants me to stick to the 7-day schedule. Anyone tried stretching out the time between shots? Does it mess with how well it works if I'm still eating less?

Hey Eddie_1975! I actually did that! It seemed to work ok, and I eventually just stopped when I reached my target weight. I went from every 7 days to every 10–and I was on a low dose to begin with. Then I lowered my dose even more and did the same thing. It's been a few months, and I've kept the weight off. I eat like I'm still getting the shots! I'm so thankful the cravings haven't returned. It's different for everyone, but it might work for you. I didn't have any side effects besides a bit of constipation sometimes. I drank plenty of water. I went from 163 lbs to 119 in about 4 months, using pen clicks. It’s all individual. Good luck!

From a biology standpoint, it's a better idea to reduce the dosage while sticking to a 7-day schedule. Stretching the doses by a day occasionally is fine for things like travel. The 7-day thing is about how the medication peaks, its half-life, and keeping a steady level of it in your system.

I've heard of lots of people spacing their shots out by 10 to 14 days. I don't think it's risky other than maybe feeling hungrier.

I tried spacing my doses out to every 10 days gradually, and I ended up developing a tolerance and gaining some weight back. Going back to every 7 days and increasing my dose a little helped me lose the weight again.

You can get the same effect by lowering the dose a bit using the pen clicks and sticking to the 7-day shot schedule. There are options to compare at the GLP! Plotter website.

Check out the GLP1 Plotter website to see the level of medication in your system for various injection rates and dose strengths. It won't affect how well the shot works.

I take half a mg like every four days.

I thought about splitting it over the week, but injecting every 3.5 days sounds like a pain to me. 😅

So this way, I just do it every fourth night before going to sleep.

I'm going on a trip and my shot day is right after I leave. I'm worried about side effects since I just started. Should I do half the dose a day early to get through the week, skip the week, or do the full dose a day early? I don't want to be sick on the plane!

Just take the dose as scheduled, i wouldn't change anything right now especially since you're new to this. Have a great trip!

Thanks for the advice everyone! Really appreciate it. I'm thinking maybe I'll try lowering the dose a tiny bit and sticking to the 7-day schedule for now, like some of you suggested. Seems like the safest way to go given what I'm hearing.

Quick question! I have the 1mg pen and have been taking 0.25mg for almost two months. Can I keep using the pen till it is empty, or do I need to throw it out after a certain point even if there’s medicine left?

The pen is supposed to be good for about 56 days after you start using it. Some people say you can go up to 100 days if you keep it cold. But you'll probably increase your dose soon anyway.

Endogenous recovery in days is why extended spacing becomes viable. The half-life handles most of the work between doses.

Monthly works at true maintenance doses - the suppression holds longer once the dose has been stable for several cycles.
