Down 11% - should I stop?

Just wanted to share my progress! My dosing schedule has been:

Weeks 1 & 2: 1mg
Weeks 3-5: 1.5mg
Week 6: 2mg (and continuing at this dose until week 10)

I've lost 11% of my initial weight, which is awesome. But I originally wanted to lose ~20%. I like how I look now, so I'm unsure if I should keep going.

I bought one 20mg vial (like most newbies do, haha) and have been carefully managing my doses to make it last. I'm hoping to figure out the best sources soon!

I'm worried about gaining the weight back once I stop, so I'm considering using it for maintenance too. That appetite suppression is a game-changer. If I stick to 1mg/week for maintenance, that 20mg vial would last me 3+ years, and a 50mg kit could last almost 9! But maybe I'll save that 50mg for later. Loving this so far! 🤩

How long are you planning on using that vial? Using it for 6 weeks is definitely longer than the suggested 4 weeks. Did you use a filter when you mixed it?

If you're happy with where you are, maybe just maintain for a while! Or keep going, it's up to you. 😊

I didn't realize the 4-week thing was a recommendation! 😨 I was planning to use it until it runs out, probably around week 12. I did not filter it - I don't know how!

I'm leaning towards sticking with smaller doses. I'm thinking of getting a 10-15mg vial next time, so I can keep the doses small and not go past the recommended duration. Thanks for the heads up! 🙏🏻

The 4-week timeframe isn't a hard rule. I usually go for about 3 months, as long as there's no visible degradation and it's refrigerated correctly.

I'm definitely more cautious. Others do things differently. It's just a guideline based on what I've read and what people share about extended use.

I'm at a point where I have a dosage that I know will last me way longer than 4 weeks. I'm debating what to do. It's cheap enough to just toss it, but I hate wasting stuff. I might experiment and see what happens. Still figuring it out.

There are many users here with way more experience than I have!

I don't think there's anything wrong with being cautious. I try to stick to 30 days after reconstitution. A lot of people have different opinions and stretch it out longer, and that's their choice. 🙂

I agree with WellWin that the 4 week thing is a guideline, not a strict rule. As long as the solution remains clear and is stored correctly, the peptide should remain stable for at least 2-3 months. Consider using a bacteriostatic water to reconstitute, which inhibits bacteria growth and improves stability.

Congrats on the weight loss, A1C-Slayer! It's great you're thinking about maintenance already. One thing to consider is that GLP-1s can have benefits beyond weight loss, such as improved blood sugar control and potential cardiovascular benefits. Even if you reach your weight goal, a lower maintenance dose might be beneficial for your overall health. Of course, this is something to discuss with your doctor.

Thanks! I'm definitely thinking about the other health benefits too. I'll talk to my doctor about it!

It's really encouraging to read about everyone's success stories. I saw a post on Reddit from someone who lost 70 pounds, which they described as the equivalent of holding five medium-sized frozen turkeys from Walmart! A funny, but effective, way to visualize the weight loss.

I saw someone mention that they are doing this for their kids. I think that's wonderful, and relatable! I know someone who was diagnosed with T2D, despite having already lost 100 pounds through diet and exercise! GLP-1s can be great for controlling diabetes and just feeling better and being more active with loved ones.

11% is real. The stopping question means different things depending on why - reaching a goal versus cost or access are separate decisions. Weight loss maintenance differs from the T2D case.

The question is what stopping actually costs. For most people the weight comes back. The medication was designed for long-term use, not as a short-term fix.

Sharing the journey openly is worth it when the progress is real. 11 percent is a meaningful marker regardless of where the goal line is.

Eleven percent is a meaningful result and 20% is still achievable - if you like how you look at 11% that's valuable data but it's a different question from whether the medication is still doing useful work.

My pace has been pretty similar - 1.5 to 2 lbs a week at the sweet spot, then it tapers as you get leaner. That's actually normal and expected. The dose titration you're describing is methodical, which is the right approach. Where are you at now in terms of body comp goals?
