Switching from Wegovy to Zepbound - anyone else?

I've been on 2.5mg of Wegovy for about half a year now, and honestly, it's been a total bust. It's actually made my cravings worse! I'm thinking of switching over to Zepbound, also at 2.5mg. Has anyone else made the jump and seen better results? Thanks!

I'm a 48-year-old woman, and semaglutide just didn't do anything for me. But then I switched to tirzepatide, and the weight is finally coming off!

Switching from sema to zep is often a pretty smooth ride. They're similar, but zep targets both GIP and GLP-1 receptors, so some people notice better appetite control. But, the initial side effects can be a bit stronger, like nausea and tiredness. Start with the lowest dose and increase it slowly, even if you feel okay at first.

Also, watch your electrolytes! Especially if you're eating less and drinking more water to combat nausea. Sodium, magnesium, and potassium are key. I've been using electrolyte drops in my drinks, and it's helped a lot with the fatigue and headaches. Give it about a month or so before you decide if zepbound is working for you – your body needs time to adjust.

That's exactly the kind of info I was hoping for! Thanks so much for the detailed advice. I'll definitely keep the electrolyte thing in mind.

I've been on Ozempic (a semaglutide) for a while now to manage my A1C, and honestly, I'm not sure why your doctor is suggesting a switch if your levels are already well-controlled and you only have mild side effects from metformin. Metformin has other protective benefits, too. I'd get a second opinion perhaps? Do some research before complying!

I agree. Sometimes it feels like doctors push these meds without really explaining things. My doctor put me on sema because I was "right on the line weight wise" - whatever that means!

Just chiming in to second the advice on electrolytes! They make a HUGE difference. Also, consider the form of metformin you're taking. If it's not extended-release, switching to the ER version might help with the diarrhea some people experience.

I've been on this journey for a few years now. Started with Victoza, lost a little, gained it back. Then Ozempic, lost about 50. Plateaued, switched to Mounjaro and it's still working. Don't give up if it's slow!

The Wegovy/Zepbound response split is real - the dual agonism doesn't guarantee better outcomes for everyone. Saffron has some craving data supporting it.

Staying on each Wegovy dose for 3-4 months and only 30 lbs total is consistent with a lower-than-expected response rather than no response - Wegovy increasing cravings is the more unusual signal. 3 weeks on 2.5mg Zepbound is genuinely too early to judge. Give it a full 4-6 weeks before drawing any conclusions.
