Reta plateau... what gives?

Okay, so I started my weight loss journey back in August hitting 315lbs. Then I started Reta around early October when I was 308. Super strict diet, zero sugar, two meals: eggs in the AM, chicken salad before 6PM. Plus, I made sure to get at least 7 hours of sleep and tried to keep my bedtime consistent. Also NAC in the morning and Glycine at night.

Things were going great. The weight was consistently going down, and I hit 278lbs by mid-December. I took a week off Reta while waiting on a new shipment (different source). I also added in some ipamoreline.

Here's where it gets weird... I gained like 8 pounds two weeks later when I checked my weight. Now I've stalled for a month at 285lbs. So frustrating!

Trying to figure out what the heck is going on.

Is it the ipamoreline?

Or is it the new source? (the paperwork seemed legit) I've noticed some appetite suppression, but not like what I felt in November at 2mg. Now I'm at 8 mg, and nothing's the same.

My guess would be the ipamorelin. Most GH peptides tend to cause water retention and can increase appetite. So, it might be a combo of the water weight and maybe eating a few more calories than usual.

Yeah, Pops, that's what I initially thought about the increased hunger. I upped my Reta dose from 4-5 to 8, hoping that would counter it. But still, I didn't expect a month-long stall after it worked so well for the past two and a half months.

I'm using cjc 1295 and ipamorelin blend, a 5mg/5mg mix. You can take it once a day, in the morning before a workout, or 30-60 mins before bed. Fast for 2 hours before and wait 30 mins after. I'm taking 200mcg daily. cjc tells your pituitary to produce GH, and ipamoralin tells your pituitary to release it.

I also started in October. My Reta titration was like the trials, starting at 2 and increasing by 2 every 4 weeks. Also, exercise is super important. I noticed my subq fat was going down, but not my visceral. I added 2mg of tesa per day before bed. I hear it's the most active of the morelins. My visceral fat dropped from 20 to 16 in about a month and a half. I haven't had any hunger issues with the IGF peps because my Reta is at 8 per week. For my diet I focus on protein and healthy fats. On workout days, I add some carbs pre-workout or if I'm low on energy. I hope this helps. Some people add cagri with Reta to help with stalls. I think 8 is good for maintenance on Reta since it doesn't have as much of a curve or plateau.

I dig GH peps. I've done a few cycles of IPA/CJC. I used them AFTER I lost weight.

I'm always starving when I'm on GH peptides.

I'd stop the IPA for a bit and start it again near the end of your weight loss.

I had a similar issue. Dropped about 50lbs on Sema but the side effects were awful! So I switched to Reta. Barely any sides and still losing. Maybe try switching?

Anyone else on TRT using Reta? I'm curious how it works together. I'm on Test and having a hell of a time getting rid of this gut, even with dialed in hormones.

I've read it has a synergistic effect with TRT, helps with stubborn fat loss.

I've heard good things about Reta and how it can preserve muscle while cutting. I wonder how it compares to Tirzepatide. I just prefer to diet without any assistance but I'm curious nonetheless.

Update: I stopped the ipamorelin a couple of days ago. Hoping to see some change in the next week or so. I'll keep you guys posted.

Starting at 308 after already losing 7 lbs diet-only means the fast-track losses aren't on the table for Reta to unlock. Plateau on a strict protocol is a dose-timing question more than a commitment question.

A two-year plateau breaking through reduced calories plus carbs plus more exercise is the right combination - the body adapts to each dose level and finding the new floor requires tightening something. The 'not perfect' acknowledgment is honest; perfect adherence is unsustainable anyway.
