Hungrier on 8mg Reta?

Okay, so I've been scaling up my dose like the studies said, and I'm at 8mg now. The stomach rumbles are a bit worse, no surprise there, but I'm also STARVING. Like craving sweets and junk food like crazy. Anyone else get this? Does it chill out eventually?

I noticed you're on Reta. Is this the first GLP-1 you've used? I started with sema, then switched to tirz and eventually reached my target weight, which I've maintained for over a year. I experimented with reta for about a dozen weeks, and I'm going back to Tirz next injection day.

I have a huge sweet tooth. Sema and Tirz took care of that completely. Once I reached my goal weight on tirz, my hunger returned, but I'd get full quickly and I wasn't constantly thinking about food.

On reta, my sweet tooth came back in the first few weeks. It's less intense now, but it's still there. I was taking 12mg Reta. Even though I've been hungrier on reta and eating sweets more often, my weight hasn't changed much. When I first switched, I gained about 10 pounds, though.

It's interesting that your cravings are increasing. Are you still losing weight?

Reta... the glucagon part can make you super hungry and crave sugar.

When I'm at 8 mg, I want to eat all the sugary stuff, and a LOT of it, so now I'm back to 6 mg.

It controls my appetite better at 6 mg.

Same thing happened to me. I was on 8mg for a month and a half, then on the seventh week I bumped it up to 10mg... then it was fine again.

Also, maybe try Cagri... it seems to help too.

I'm going up and down a couple pounds, but I'm also putting on muscle at the gym. Hard to tell what's what! Haha. I started on Sema, then switched to reta pretty quickly. It was working awesome until I hit 8. It's like my body finally realized it's been running on empty and wants to catch up. Lol

It is important to remember that GLP-1 medications can have variable effects on individuals. While some experience appetite suppression, others may encounter increased hunger, particularly at higher doses. This can be due to the interplay of glucagon and other hormonal factors. It's also worth noting that some individuals may experience what is sometimes referred to as a 'symptom jump,' where previously suppressed cravings or behaviors resurface.

I've also noticed some pretty strange food aversions. I used to LOVE chicken, but now I can't stand it. Pickles, though? Suddenly, my favorite snack!

OMG yes! I'm the same way with sweets! I never used to care about cake, but now I NEED it! I saw someone else say the same thing on a reddit thread ... I think the ozempic doesn't like some foods anymore lol

I've found that THC can totally mess with the appetite suppression from these meds. Even when I'm full, I still want to eat everything when the munchies kick in. It's a different kind of hunger. Adding in THCV could possibly curb or stop the munchies.

Getting hungrier at 8mg is a rebound hunger pattern that shows up during rapid dose escalation - the receptor signal lags behind the dose step. Holding at 8mg for 2-3 weeks to let the suppression floor stabilize usually resolves it before needing to escalate further.
