Down 70lbs, but now what?

Has anyone else been dealing with constipation? I'm drinking tons of water, but it's still an issue.

Water and fiber are key! I'd also suggest a fiber supplement or even some prunes. Good luck!

GLP-1 GI at the outer edge includes bile acid changes from rapid loss and motility slowdown. Worth a GI doc visit if it's been more than a couple weeks.

What's your maintenance plan looking like? Curious if you cut the dose down to keep weight stable, or held the same dose. I'm 5 lbs from my goal and trying to figure out the taper question now — my doc says we'll go down to 5mg from 10mg but timeline is fuzzy.

Had the same baseline - Miralax before starting, Miralax still after. Now it's Miralax plus milk of magnesia a few times a week on top. Gastroenterologist suggested it after nothing else worked. Tried the standard stuff - fiber, water, walking. This combo is the only thing that's actually helped. Might end up needing a prescription.

70 lbs to goal is the full arc - the now-what question usually lands on maintenance dose, which most find lower than what got them there.

The gallstone development at 70lbs is well-documented as a fast-loss complication rather than a medication effect - the rapid shift in bile composition during accelerated fat breakdown is the mechanism. Managing post-loss maintenance on the drug side while dealing with the gallstone recovery is the harder coordination problem, but it is workable.

51kg of weight loss on a path through multiple surgeries and still going is a remarkable demonstration of persistence. The gallbladder connection to rapid GLP-1 weight loss is well documented at this point - the rate of loss seems to matter as much as the total. Did the surgical team make that connection or was it just discovered coincidentally?
