Period cravings on GLP-1s?

Anyone else notice food cravings ramp up when their period is about to start? Seems like for a few days there I am just wanting to eat everything again. I figure it's a hormone thing.

Definitely! I find myself constantly thinking about food during that time. Opening the fridge and just staring, scrolling through delivery apps. It's a real struggle to resist!

Chewing and stomach stretching. Liquids blow through both way faster, so your brain gets less time to trigger hunger hormones and others like CCK. That's why solids work better.

Yep. The good thing is now a square of dark chocolate usually handles it. Before, it was a free-for-all. Now I just satisfy the craving and move on.

I've noticed a similar pattern with the medication wearing off a bit towards the end of the week. Days 1-2 are pretty good, then by days 6-7, I'm feeling the hunger creep back. I wonder if spacing out the doses a bit more could help? Like Tracy1982 said, maybe every 9 days instead of 7?

Yeah I def experience that day 6-7 hunger too. I make sure to get plenty of protein in, that helps keep me full longer. Otherwise it's almost impossible to not overeat.

Consider consulting with a registered dietician if you're struggling to get enough nutrients while on these medications. They can help you find palatable, nutrient-dense options like protein shakes or bone broth. Also, resistance training is crucial to preserve muscle mass during weight loss.

I'm only on the lowest dose but still feel like I have to force myself to eat sometimes. So weird to be losing weight too fast. I'm thinking of spacing out my injections like ReceptorQueen suggested. It's good to know I'm not the only one

never really had food noise — i'm fat because of WHAT i eat not noise. suppression worked instant for me though

The luteal phase appetite signal is strong enough to break through GLP-1 satiety for some people. A couple of days accommodating it is normal and won't derail progress.
