Protein shakes: flavor burnout?

Does anyone else get completely sick of certain foods? I'm talking about flavor fatigue.

It's the worst with protein shakes. I'll drink one every day for a few weeks, and then suddenly I can't even stand the smell. It happened before I started the injections last month, but finding good protein sources feels tougher now. Any suggestions for dealing with this? I'm open to trying new brands, flavors, powder or pre-made drinks. I'm also curious about clear protein drinks.

I know what you mean. Protein shakes just don't work for me. Right now, I'm rotating between Chobani protein yogurt drinks, strawberry Greek yogurt with powdered peanut butter mixed in, and plain Greek yogurt with vanilla extract, a touch of honey, powdered peanut butter, and berries.

I have to stop having them every so often! Another option that works for me sometimes are egg flips. Whole dairy milk, a few raw eggs, vanilla and a bit of sweetener. You get around 8 grams of protein per egg, so three eggs is a decent boost.

I have that issue with almost any food if I eat it too often. I found this brand of protein noodles called Kyunu, and it's been great for adding protein to my diet. I've tried other brands, but they were awful. I use these noodles in stir-fries and ramen. They are done super fast. It's especially helpful since I was vegetarian for many years, and even though I eat meat a few times a week now, I don't love it and feel guilty, so it's hard to reach my protein targets.

I can't stand most protein powders, no matter how much I've tried. My solution has been adding cottage cheese to smoothies. Some frozen berries or mango, a spoonful of honey, and a cup of cottage cheese gives you around 25 grams of protein. I'm also thinking about trying unflavored protein powders to mix into soups or other meals.

Try Barebells cookies n cream protein bars. You can buy them individually. They have 20g protein and taste pretty good!

My go-to protein breakfast is cottage cheese with chia seeds, walnuts, and blueberries. I also like adding cottage cheese to scrambled eggs with some taco meat. It keeps me full for hours!

I like the thread title. I had flavor fatigue long before starting the injections. It's almost like a fragrance sensitivity, where strong smells become overwhelming. The food version started with those corporate sandwiches loaded with dressings and special sauces. It got so bad that even a whiff of those kinds of items can set me off.

That's a great idea, I'll try it! I picked up some frozen mango chunks at the store yesterday.

Anyone else notice coffee hits different now? I used to down three HUGE mugs in the morning without a problem, but now one cup makes me feel like I'm vibrating.

Totally! I basically don't enjoy coffee anymore, it just doesn't taste good to me now.

Protein bars back-to-back gave me a bloated, uncomfortable day with sulphur burps. Still recovering today so been eating protein slowly in small bits. Thinking of delaying my shot a day or two.

Early on, I zeroed in on go-to options: both scrambled and hard-boiled eggs, small bagged nuts, rice cauliflower, a rotisserie bird, green cruciferous veggies, mozzarella sticks, regular yogurt, shakes with whey, bars for snacking, fresh cottage curds, warm broth, and herbal tea.
