Thigh injection spot?

Hey all, sorry if this has come up a bunch, I looked but didn't find much.

I'm thinking of switching my injections from my belly to my thigh to see if it helps with some side effects (like heartburn and nausea), but everything I read says to inject on the outside of the thigh. The thing is, I have way more cushion on the inside of my thighs, and I wanna avoid injecting into muscle if I can.

Anyone else injecting on the inside of their thigh? Does it work okay? Thanks!

I'm wondering why you think switching the injection site will matter? My understanding is those side effects are caused by the medication itself, not *where* you inject it.

I always inject into my thigh! I alternate legs weekly and just pick a spot that looks good, usually on the top of my thigh. I just make sure I can see the pen dial when I'm sitting down. Works perfectly!

The needles they give you with those pens are ridiculously short, you're not even close to hitting muscle. They barely get past the skin into the subcutaneous fat.

That being said, and I'm not a physician, the inside of the thigh can be pretty sensitive. You might not like poking it, and the meds can cause irritation where you inject, so you might have some tenderness there for a while.

Sit in a chair, and a good bit of fat will be pushed up on the side of your thigh. Inject several inches above the knee and several inches below the hip in the middle third toward the outside.

You can also split your dose, like half on day 1 and half on day 4, to lower side effects.

Injection site only changes how fast the medication gets absorbed.

I inject into the top of my thigh. I've done it this way since 2018, after figuring out that injecting into my stomach wasn't a good plan (too many blood sugar crashes).

I injected into my thigh for like a year, and it almost always hurt. I finally got brave enough to try injecting into my stomach (just pinch some fat and jab), and I couldn't believe it didn't hurt at all! Sometimes I get a little twinge a few minutes later, but it goes away fast. Might be worth a shot if you haven't yet :)

Hey, just wanted to chime in on something I saw elsewhere: for injuries like tendon or ligament issues, some people inject BPC157 close to the injury site. Seems like it might help, but I'd proceed with caution and do your homework.

Update: Tried the inner thigh. Not bad, but a bit more sting than the stomach. Hoping it helps with the reflux! Thanks for all the input!

I read a funny story the other day that someone dropped their needle and only ended up with an inch-long scratch on their thigh. Made me feel better about my own injection mishaps!

Subcutaneous injection site has nothing to do with side effects
I disagree, the location can affect how fast you absorb it, though many people probably don't notice. But I definitely notice that my arm is faster than my stomach.

Switch up where you inject instead of the same spot every time. Rotate across your belly, thigh, upper arm area. Keeps things working right and avoids patterns.
