Weight stalled but clothes fit looser?

Stopped for 6 months, restarted, and hit a wall. I see this as a tool to get to healthy weight - I track food, eat enough protein (no meat but plenty of fish). Used to kill my cravings for alcohol but that's fading now. Been at the same starting dose because it worked.

Side effects that bad? skip the next dose a few days til you recover. might be a candidate for a split — 0.25 on day 1 then day 4. spreads the dose better over the week, less side effects.

I began with .25mg in January, and my doctor suggested increasing the dose each month until March. I moved to .5mg in Feb and am now at 1mg for March, with another appt coming up. I started at 205lbs. By February, I was around 195lbs. Now, my weight is still 195lbs. I almost don't believe the scale since so many of my pants are too big now! Even my shoes seem to have more room. Can your weight stay the same even with these changes?

It's possible! Sometimes weight doesn't tell the whole story. Body composition changes can make a big difference in how clothes fit. Maybe this will help visualize it:

It can be frustrating when the scale doesn't move, but don't get discouraged! You're likely heading in the right direction.

I'm always saying, measure yourself! I experience weeks where my weight plateaus, but my waist measurement continues to decrease, and that's what's most important to me.

Also, I don't always trust scales! I weighed myself at home, then went to the doctor a few months back, and I weighed ten pounds less there. So I just replaced my scale at home.

If you stall for a while, don't be afraid to talk to your doctor about adjusting the dosage. I had to increase mine when I stopped seeing results. Just sharing my experience!

I agree with @Shannon_04 - sometimes you just need a little dose tweak to get things moving again! I've heard of people even splitting doses. Like

I’m on 1mg for the entire March then I’ll see her again.
Maybe you could ask your doctor when you see her if splitting the dose would work for you?

Yes, @Jess_18, splitting doses can help some people. I've also read that some find it helpful to cycle off for a short period, then restart at a lower dose.

It's a mix of lack of perspective and bias. For folks whose metabolism and willpower work fine, shedding post-holiday pounds or fitting back into that outfit is effortless. They assume what's easy for them is easy for all (bias), so they lack compassion for those struggling (gap).

Love being able to fit into my old pieces again. Gave away so many outfits over the years that I miss, but the ones I saved? Finally coming back around.

Can't believe what I'm reading. Yes to handbags especially. Never cared much before but now I'm always looking. 410 calories and 57g sugar on one drink. No way. Back to reading labels.
