Day 5 and the monster is back

Hey, everyone!

Just gonna drop my thoughts here, so feel free to skip if you're not into it 😉.

Started the injections last week, my first time ever using them. I was super aware of how I felt, what I ate, and focused on nourishing my body without going overboard. At first, I wasn't sure if it was working or just a placebo effect. Like, maybe I was just scared of feeling sick, so I was able to manage my eating better. I kept wondering if I actually had food cravings or if I was imagining things – you know, the usual overthinking. But then, today (day 5) rolled around. And yep, the cravings are back. I definitely had issues controlling my eating before, and the medication helped quiet that down. A user here said it went from "nightmare mode to easy mode," and I totally get that. I wasn't sure if I was feeling anything, but now I know I am. Ready for the second shot!
This stuff is wild.

I'm hoping this will be a game-changer for me, like it has been for so many others. Reading your stories and seeing the happy transformation pics is really inspiring.

Have a good one! 🌻

It's pretty common for those old food cravings to sneak back in as the week goes on. The dose in your system naturally decreases. I usually notice it kick in around day 4 or 5, too.

I'm on week 2. Experiencing the same thing. It's a bit disheartening when you realize the food noise is returning and you still have half the week left... Hopefully, when I get to a higher dose, it will provide more consistent relief from those constant thoughts. It's like being freed from mental chains, only for a few days at a time. Before starting, I often thought about how different life must be for those without these obsessive thoughts. Especially when you need to concentrate.

Thanks for keeping a journal. Wishing you success on your journey.

Relax! Progress through the doses. It works for most people. You might have to put in extra effort for a couple of days each week to stay on track. But it's better than struggling every single day like you were before.

Know the feeling. Gained 22 in two weeks maybe a month back, basically just eating normal portions. Lost 10 pretty fast though and can drop 2-3 a day if I stick to my usual deficit. The swings are kind of ridiculous.

That's a really common experience. It's hard to know what's 'normal' when you've lived with constant food noise for so long. The medication can give you a glimpse of what it's like without that constant mental chatter.

I've been trying to cut back on processed foods, and it really does make a difference. I found that stuff just made me want to eat more. Now I focus on whole foods, like fruits, veggies, and lean protein.

Early on I completely lost interest in soda, was easily a six pack daily person. Nine months in though I'm back drinking it regularly. Frustrating when that craving creeps back.

eating 100-140% daily recommended fiber plus supplements. greek yogurt for probiotics. benefiber's useless. trying psyllium husk this week — always worked before. mag citrate pills, docusate, miralax — nothing helps. 100oz water a day, waking up to pee every night.

down 60 lbs and finally feeling like myself again after having kids. weight packed on with my first pregnancy and wouldn't budge. this gave me my confidence and life back. started march 2024, took a little over a year. haven't worked out much or dieted hard, just drinking less and eating less. naturally reaching for healthier stuff and more protein now. 5'8", started 204, now 145.

The wins go way deeper than the scale. Food noise finally quiet. Eating to fuel, not craving. Finishing a meal and actually stopping. Steady energy all day. Better sleep, no late-night snacking. Clothes fit different even before the big drops. Less joint pain. Sharper focus, better mood. Not building my whole day around food anymore. That's the stuff.

Day 5 is usually right in the middle of the adjustment window. The appetite drop you're describing is the medication starting to work - even if it doesn't feel totally linear at first. Keeping food simple, high protein, and not forcing anything when you're not hungry is the right call. It usually settles into a more predictable pattern by week 2-3.

The soda craving returning at 9 months is a common pattern - food noise suppression softens with continuous dosing as receptor sensitivity adapts. Most people find they're still below pre-med levels, but it's worth a dose check conversation.
