Sema side effect: gray hair?

Has anyone else noticed their hair going gray faster while on semaglutide? I've been hearing a lot about hair falling out, but never about this. I'm trying to eat right and get all my nutrients, so it shouldn't be from that. I'm doing this the right way, or at least I think I am. It might just be timing, but I noticed a few grays a year ago and now, after about half a year on sema, it seems like way more are popping up now. I'm in my 40s, so I wasn't really expecting it to happen this quickly...

That's so weird, because I'm having pretty much the opposite happen. I'm in my mid 30s, and I had some gray hairs before. My hair was falling out like crazy for a while after starting sema. Now that it's growing back, the new hairs are all my original color even where it used to be gray.

Lack of B vitamins can also cause gray hair. It's always good to supplement, especially when on sema!

Not directly related to sema, but a really bad vitamin D deficiency made my hair go gray temporarily when I was younger. Might be worth checking your levels.

I'm 37 and have been on sema for around 8 months. I've been stuck at the same weight for a few months now after dropping around 25 pounds. I think I've been losing hair for a while, and it's finally starting to fill back in, but all of the new growth is silver. I had some before, but it's really coming in fast now.

I'm down about 50 pounds since the start of the year. It's amazing, but I'm starting to get that 'Ozempic face' thing I've heard about. Anyone else experience that?

It's just volume loss in your face from the weight loss. Some people love it, some don't. It's pretty common with significant weight loss, though.

My face definitely looks different after losing weight. I guess I'm just more attractive now? LOL. Seriously though, it's nice to actually see my eyes now. I have PCOS, and this is the only thing that has ever worked for me to lose weight.

That's great to hear! I've heard it can be really effective if you have PCOS.

Gastric slow-down means pooping slows down. Take stool softener and relax. Side effect. Ruined drinking for me. Single glass wine maybe okay. Beer's carbonated so it sucks too. Bariatric folks often give up fizzy drinks the same way.
