Ozempic and energy levels?

I've been using Ozempic for several months and my energy levels have been all over the place. At first, shedding pounds gave me a real boost, but recently it's been inconsistent. Some days I'm up and at 'em, other days I'm dragging and it's hard to stick to my workouts.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it a constant energy surge, or more of a rollercoaster? And what's helping you maintain energy throughout the day?

The variations in energy aren't caused by the medication itself. It's because of the calorie reduction it causes. If your caloric deficit is too large, you'll feel exhausted.

Try controlling your weight loss by consistently eating calories day to day. Starve yourself one day, and you'll feel terrible the next.

I felt super tired for the first few months, but then it improved! I think it's cause I'm sleeping more, my calorie reduction is smaller (it was like -900 calories a day, now it's maybe -200 to -400 calories), and I'm eating more protein. Plus, I'm hitting the gym like 4 or 5 times a week.

Thanks for the replies, everyone! It's good to know I'm not alone in experiencing these energy fluctuations. @ThinTale, that makes sense about the calorie deficit. I'll try to be more mindful of that. Maybe I was a bit too aggressive with my diet changes at the start.

I've noticed a big decrease in pain since starting Ozempic. I think it's related to lower inflammation. When I first started, I went hard on the diet changes, and I noticed a real difference in my pain levels. I'm trying to stick to cleaner eating now because when I eat too much sugar, I feel it.

It's important to remember that all anti-obesity medications have contraindications. They shouldn't be used in patients with hypersensitivity to the drug (e.g., anaphylaxis) or in those who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Also, be cautious about hypoglycemia, especially if you're also taking insulin or sulfonylureas for diabetes.

That's interesting! I haven't really noticed a change in pain levels, but I do have more energy to move around, so maybe that indirectly helps?

I am still struggling with energy levels. I also have POTS, and I am wondering if there could be a connection.

forced me to face the anxiety and depression i was using food to avoid. dark at first, but got help, got medicated, and my mental health is way better now. lost muscle tho — wish i'd lifted during the process.

my ego: waking at 4am to check peptide forums? loser move. my conscience: you'd do it too. my reality: asleep at 5am after checking every 30 mins before that.

melanotan 2 definitely did it for me, but i also got super sensitive to other stuff. tretinoin made me feel psychotic, botox gave me vertigo. depression showed up too, which i never had before.

Started at 243, rock bottom in 2022. By 2026 down to 160, lifting 3x week, hiking, golfing, still sober almost 4 years. Health complete turnaround.

Mood and energy shifts on sema are real and well-documented. The plateau phase tends to flatten the early boost as the caloric pattern stabilizes.
