Just started, SO sick!

Doc put me on a 0.5 dose right off the bat. I did the injection about six hours ago, and I'm regretting it BIG TIME. I've been throwing up non-stop for the last three hours. There's nothing left in my stomach. I get a little relief for a few minutes, but then the nausea slowly creeps back until I'm sick again. I haven't thrown up in years, and I hate it. Does it get better? It's 1 AM, and I can't sleep because I feel so awful.

I accidentally took a first dose at .5 when I was supposed to start at .25 because I messed up the syringes. I had about three days of nausea and some gas, but then I was mostly fine. I did stop drinking soda though. You can ask your doctor for Zofran, or try OTC stuff like Pepto or Tums. It'll pass, even if it feels like forever right now. Maybe ask your doc about lowering the dose to .25 for the next few weeks to let your body get used to it. Good luck!

Call your doctor in the morning. That's a pretty intense reaction to 0.5. Are you certain you injected the correct amount and not more by accident?

If you did inject the right amount, try doing it in your thigh. It absorbs slower than in the stomach, which can help with the nausea.

I first started at 0.25 and nothing happened. 0.5 is already better. I walked into the grocery store and didn’t need anything. I had to force myself to buy watermelon. Watermelon is the only thing that looks good. Hope you get better soon !!! maybe lower to .25.

I started on .25, and I felt sick the first couple of weeks. I still get nausea sometimes, but I think the benefits are worth it in the long run.

Wow, that's a really big dose to start with! I'm sorry you're going through all of this. Get some Pedialyte and Pepto ULTRA. Staying hydrated is super important right now.

0. 5 as a first dose is pretty darn aggressive, if you ask me. Lots of people start at 0.25 and then slowly increase it. But the good news is it definitely improves with time; the first few days are usually the worst. Try sipping something fizzy like ginger ale; that helped me a lot when I was feeling nauseous early on. And injecting it at night before going to bed can help you sleep through the worst part. Hang in there; most people start feeling much better by week 2 or 3.

I felt pretty bad at first, then I realized I wasn't eating enough protein. Someone told me to track my protein intake and aim for around 120g a day. I haven't been sick since! I don't even track calories anymore, and I'm losing weight again after being stuck for a while.

Everyone is different! I started on a low dose (.25) for six weeks and had almost no nausea. No vomiting at all. Don't let the horror stories scare you.
