Went back down on my dose!?

My husband and I hiked 2.5 miles on steep mountain terrain this morning. He about collapsed trying to keep pace with me! Used to dread outdoor stuff, now I'm out there constantly. Started at 244, down to 158 on 15mg dose. Total max was 260.

Stepping back when the current dose is causing issues is a legitimate move. The medication still works at lower doses, just more slowly. 48 lbs from October is solid progress by any measure.

First-pin nausea that severe usually points to eating too soon or eating the wrong things after injection. The one-hour window is rough - for most people, eating light or waiting 2-3 hours after pinning helps significantly. Some find that what they eat matters as much as timing; fatty foods and large portions are the main triggers at that stage. Going back down on dose when sides are that intense is a reasonable call - the medication still works at lower doses, just more gradually. The goal is finding a dose you can tolerate consistently rather than pushing to a number that makes every injection day miserable. Once the body adapts, tolerance often improves and people can step back up without the same reaction.

25kg at 5mg over a year is the argument for minimum effective dose right there. If it is working, escalating is optional.

Stepping back after higher doses lose effect is a legitimate protocol move - 48 lbs from 295 shows the earlier doses were doing the work, and the body often needs more time at each step than Zepbound's label suggests.

48 lbs since October is solid. Plateau or dose - hold 4 weeks and watch. Real stalls respond to a bump; temporary ones clear on their own.

Dose step-back when side effects outpace results is a reasonable call - it's not regression. Loss slows but the benefits continue, and skin elasticity responds better to a slower pace than a fast drop anyway.

Split dosing during titration helped me eat better all week. With full weekly dose, I'd eat well three days then two easy then two hungry.
This explains so much. I had that same boom and bust and did not know splitting was an option. Did you do straight 50-50 or favor one side? Six months in and back to weekly sounds like the right landing point. That stability is what I am working toward.
