GLP-1s eating your muscle?

DEXA before and after is the cleanest way to separate fat loss from muscle loss - very few people run that comparison.

The yearly DEXA cadence is the gold standard for answering the muscle loss question over a GLP-1 run. Bone density tracking alongside the composition data is the underrated benefit - people losing significant weight sometimes see bone density changes that the scale hides entirely. 150 lbs off over 4 years with the data to show what happened to lean mass is the kind of longitudinal picture most people don't have.

Went with a DEXA scan for this. Female here.
Wrapped up a cut back in January at 10% body fat, 136 pounds.
Over the following six months bumped calories up by roughly 800 and cut cardio from around 3 hours down to 1.5-2. Just got another DEXA done and it's showing 14% body fat, weighing slightly less at 133, but the drop looks like it came purely from muscle. Genuinely can't figure out how that happened.

Just went through this with my new doctor. Kidney function reading came back at 85, so he suggested running a different kidney marker test, which showed 87 instead. Currently taking 5 grams of creatine daily.

Love how people frame it like naturally losing weight through diet and exercise costs you a quarter of your muscle, while GLPs somehow cost half. Obviously that's backwards, same thing happens losing weight through diet alone without exercise. Don't blame the medication, blame skipping the workouts.
