Reta making me crave sweets, anyone else on Tirz?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
I def have a sweet tooth on Reta now and then (and I was on a carnivore diet for 3 years, so sweets used to be a non-issue). Currently doing 2.5mg of reta to maintain. It curbs my hunger.

I also LOVE this stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've seen some users mention that hunger can fluctuate, especially early on. Someone on Mounjaro said they really felt the effects the first few days and then it waned a bit, but leveled out after about a month. It might just take some time for your body to adjust. They suggested making sure you're staying really hydrated and managing any constipation.

Are you losing weight? If the point is to reduce and you're achieving that, why consider upping the dose?
I'm not trying to lose more weight now, I'm on maintenance so just trying to keep the cravings at bay

It's interesting to hear about the fluctuations in hunger and cravings. I remember someone talking about how the first week on Mounjaro was the most intense for appetite suppression, and then it became more manageable. I wonder if it's similar with Reta and Tirz.

This stuff is wild. I saw a lady online say she's down about 100lbs after a couple years! She said her relationship with food is totally different now - healthier choices, smaller portions, and no guilt when she's full. Said random people are noticeably nicer to her now, too.

The sweet cravings on Reta is a known thing - the glucagon receptor action seems to do that for some people. Tirz does tend to hit food noise harder. People love Reta for the weight loss speed and the metabolic effects beyond just appetite - different mechanisms doing different things. Some people end up running both for exactly that reason.

Yeah Tirz and Reta are different in that way for a lot of people - Tirz lets you eat normally just in smaller portions, Reta can be more extreme on appetite. The sweet craving thing is a specific Reta phenomenon for some people, doesn't seem to happen as much on Tirz. If you can eat normally on Tirz and still see results, that's arguably better for sustainable habits.

the skip-dose-without-adverse-effects result is a legitimately different outcome than what the person posting is experiencing - the Reta sweet craving pattern comes up enough to be recognized in community threads, but it is not universal, and the absence of the pattern for some people does not explain away the presence of it for others. both can be true while the mechanism varies by individual
