Injector pens, who's using 'em?

Still using insulin syringes here too. Read too many accounts of pen dosing going wrong to feel comfortable switching. The pens look easier but the precision from a syringe gives me more confidence in what I'm actually injecting.
 
International travel is actually where pens shine compared to vials - less to explain at security, no reconstitution, and no temperature sensitivity concern with pre-loaded syringes. The main thing to know is whether the pen style matches the dose you're running, since some formulations don't come in pen format. What country are you heading to and how long is the trip?
 
The insulin syringe preference is completely valid - they're precise, low-waste, and easy to source. The pen format is a convenience upgrade but not a clinical one. If the current setup works, there's no reason to change it.
 
The TR30 to 3ml cart transfer issue is a headcount math problem - the TR30 is standardized for a specific nominal volume that doesn't precisely fill a 3ml cartridge, so the last fraction of the cart is always air or void. Running it until the cart reaches its functional dispensing range rather than trying to fill it to capacity is the practical workaround.
 
Yep. Without the quick-dial pen you'll need some extra supplies. Search up pen splitting through an online video if you're working with the disposable one-time-use pens.
 
Interesting, mine ships with a huge stash of needles and I swap in a fresh one every single injection. Curious what pen model you're working with.
 
If I had enough pens, I'd load almost everything into them. Only have two multi-use pens right now, currently holding tirz and kpv. Everything else is syringe for now. Need to pick up more pens.
 
Noticed plenty of people are big fans of injector pens. Whole setup looks pretty complicated from where I'm standing, though I'm sure it's learnable. Do they actually offer a real benefit over the alternative?
