Sweet Cravings on Reta?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
The afternoon sweet craving at 2mg every 4 days is partly a timing issue - you're likely hitting the dose trough around day 3-4 when levels are lowest. Some people pin every 3 days instead to smooth the valley. The hunger vs sweet tooth variation across people on reta is real and there's no consistent direction.

5mg with zero cravings even if volume control is loose is a really useful distinction. The craving piece going away makes intake management so much more doable even when portion size isn't fully handled. What dose did you start at to get to 5mg?

The sweet cravings appearing on Reta that weren't there before is something that comes up enough to be worth tracking. Going to 2.5 after four weeks and having that happen - did the cravings settle down at the higher dose or get more intense? You gotta figure out if it's dose-dependent.

the motivation hit at 1mg twice weekly is one of the things that does not get talked about enough with reta. the appetite suppression part working but the energy and drive going with it is a real tradeoff. tirz tends to be cleaner on the energy side for most people so the switch makes sense.

Barely get sweet cravings anymore these days. On the rare occasion I do and overdo it, chocolate especially, I end up throwing it back up since anything that rich just doesn't sit well in large amounts anymore.

Yesss!!! Chocolate and sugar are the real problem for me. Appetite's basically gone but sweets still get grabbed constantly. Read somewhere that a few sugar-free days helps break that cycle, but it's been rough sticking to it. Also barely eating otherwise makes it feel like a treat's been earned, which just fuels wanting more, then slipping up makes it worse again.

Seems to actually amplify sugar cravings for me personally. Would honestly choose sweets over pretty much anything else at this point.

Definitely still get cravings, just takes way less to actually satisfy them now. My weakness has always been sour gummy candy, used to be able to polish off a full bag without feeling done. These days a small handful does the trick completely.

Interesting take. Always had a strong reaction to sugar myself, and one of the bigger shifts has been actually enjoying sweeter things I used to skip entirely without a second thought, like soda.

Kicked me off at 500mg once daily for the first month, then bumped that to twice a day after that. Sugar cravings have always been my weak point, and this has genuinely wiped that particular urge out.

Recently started this compound and I'm noticing a real jump in hunger, especially strong cravings for sweets specifically.

Unusual for me since I'm also on a stimulant medication that normally curbs appetite.

Also taking a couple of anti-seizure medications. Any tips for keeping these cravings in check, or thoughts on how the mix of medications might be playing into this?

Sweet cravings do show up sometimes even on reta. Sour candy and a fresh batch of banana raisin cookies made at home recently, which is unusual since sweets aren't normally much of a draw. Could've easily gone through half that bag, but managed to catch it, put everything away, and didn't struggle through the rest of the evening after that. Normally that kind of moment turns into hours of internal back-and-forth, one that ends in a late-night kitchen trip more often than not, followed by real disappointment afterward.

Seems like every kind of craving gets dialed way back, sweets, drinking, all of it. Running a fairly modest amount of the fifth compound and there's zero urge to snack these days, whereas before starting it was nonstop. I was never big into drinking anyway though.
