Anyone else feeling... different?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
gonna be real - finding what works and actually sticking with it is the whole battle, ya know? the OP's point about people only talking about food is so true. there's the whole other side of what these meds do to how you feel day to day that doesn't get posted about nearly as much. glad you've found something that works.

The emotional side coming up alongside the appetite change is something therapy can actually help with in ways the medication can't. Food troubles from childhood showing up again when the medication starts doing its job is so consistent - the suppression quiets the food noise but doesn't touch the emotional patterns underneath. Glad you went back. How's it going with your therapist?

Starting January 2024 and then stopping for 3 months due to insurance and copay issues with regain in that window is the discontinuation problem that the OP's thread is circling around. The feeling different the OP describes is exactly what gets lost in the gap. Insurance gaps as the most common reason people stop is something more people should know going in.

Same here. Tried every kind of anxiety treatment and medication over the years, nothing's ever made me feel quite like this. Hoping it does the same for you.

Been following the mounjaro discussions for months now and haven't really seen anger mentioned as a side effect before, this is actually the earliest thread I've spotted bringing it up. Mild depression or apathy shows up a lot more often.

Even without dropping much weight on mounjaro, my head feels so much better. Anxious spirals and obsessive thinking used to run my life, now those moments are rare, and when they do show up I can actually tell my thoughts are reasonable instead of spinning off into nowhere.

Sometimes I miss those big mood swings and adrenaline rushes, but I'll take steady and calm over that any day.

Even better when the prescription comes with extra supply built in. Definitely feel more relaxed these days compared to when I first started, now that there's a larger backup vial on hand.

What made the real difference for me was finally feeling like I was working in sync with my own body rather than constantly battling it. Already knew the mechanics of losing weight, just could never sustain nonstop hunger and food fixation long enough. This medication didn't substitute for good habits, it just made sticking with them realistic over the long haul.

Got prescribed for type 2 diabetes as well. Closing in on a full year on this now. Looking back, honestly can't recall feeling any real shift until reaching the 10mg amount. Maybe starting around 7.5.

Not sure, honestly. But that mental food chatter and cravings (plus the weight itself) stuck around well into the higher dose range for me. Everybody's wired differently.

Never actually stopped taking it. Think I might've just adjusted to the flatter emotional baseline. Working on tapering toward a lower maintenance amount now. Several months in, lost a solid amount getting up to the higher dose. Still trying to figure out whether I'd rather have that constant urge to eat everything within reach paired with the restlessness and mood swings, or this calmer, less anxious version of things. Still deciding! Wondering if this is just what a steadier baseline feels like for other people.

One month into Mounjaro now. Definitely picked up on shifts in both mood and energy, and thankfully all in a good direction. Getting these random surges where out of nowhere I'm up on my feet scrubbing the kitchen, huge change after years of feeling constantly drained and worn out. Also just generally feeling more optimistic lately. More motivated than I've felt in ages, tackling goals and projects I'd let sit untouched for years. Kind of confusing since I braced for the opposite, but I'll take it gladly. Heard some people mention this medication helping their ADHD, wondering if that's connected to what I'm noticing. Things that used to feel like a struggle just feel lighter now somehow, hard to fully explain, but something's shifted in me well beyond just the scale and blood sugar numbers.

Only at 2.5mg right now since I'm brand new to this, so there's a nagging worry these good effects might not hold once the dose climbs. Guess time will tell.
