Down 90+ lbs in 2 yrs. Feeling blessed!

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Been on semaglutide for 13 months now. At 5'4 and 63, I'm down to 130. More social, care more about my appearance, cholesterol dropped from 298 to 203, and I have way more energy. Feeling more confident and like a real adult instead of compensating for perceived flaws.

Don't tell anyone because of all the stigma and misinformation—people think it's cheating, not realizing what I deal with. Keep it private because that's what feels right for me.

The 'just eat less' framing completely misunderstands the biology. 90 lbs over 2 years tells a story the people with that framing can't explain away - consistent sustained loss doesn't happen from willpower alone. The stigma is starting to shift as the medications become more mainstream and the results speak for themselves.

Starting today after discovering an eating disorder context is a different kind of beginning than the typical goal. The OP's mental chatter quieter after 90+ lbs but stress still arguing is probably the picture of what the medication addresses versus what the underlying relationship with food looks like long-term. Hope the first weeks go smoothly for you.

The freed-up mental bandwidth is one of the most underrated benefits - when food isn't taking up a chunk of your cognitive day, the space that opens for other things is real. Skincare, dental, all the self-care you put off when you weren't feeling good about yourself. Good to hear it's adding up.

the fruit thing happened to me too. stuff i used to skip entirely because it wasn't satisfying enough is now exactly what i want. the fiber from it makes a real difference on GLP-1 where things slow down, and it's actually enjoyable to eat which is not always true of the other fiber sources people recommend

She catches less flak these days, but a while back people would act genuinely scandalized watching her eat two pieces of bread or grab a barbecue plate. Genuinely twisted mindset.

Took a while to realize, but genuinely thrilled that's how things worked out here too.
Eating like a normal person's been possible, still counting calories, but real, normal food. Proper meals.
Enjoying food socially too. Overindulging at all-inclusive resorts and reining it back in at home, that sort of balance.
The kind of thing people who've never struggled with weight just naturally do.
No unpleasant side effects.
Two years in now and every bit of it has been enjoyable.

Oh, and down a massive amount and landed in a healthy weight range for my height for the first time in three decades.
Also think long term this approach sets up maintenance far better than if appetite suppression alone had done all the work.

Congrats and wow. lol! Looking incredible. Not sure why but stepping on a scale terrifies me. Definitely dropped noticeably though, needing clothing sizes down two to three levels (men's sizing).

Same story, lost 90 pounds. Went from a 2X/3X down to a small/medium. Started back in spring of last year and by summer I was roughly where you're at now. What actually gets you through it? Just time passing, not a satisfying answer, but it's the truth. You'll get reacquainted with yourself eventually. The person you were before is still you, just like we're not the same people we were as kids. We change, and that's fine. Also, keep shopping for new stuff. My taste in clothes shifted completely, and while letting go of some favorite pieces stung at first, it ended up being genuinely good for me, part of moving forward. And go easy on yourself. Adjusting to a new body isn't a bad thing, it just takes time. You didn't gain the weight overnight, so don't expect to feel different overnight either. Hope this helps some. :)

Ha, same here! Down 30lbs but not quite enough for strangers to look twice... actually wait, scratch that, someone actually flirted with me not long ago! Caught me off guard in a good way (appreciated that they kept it respectful). Picked up some inexpensive summer pieces to feel a bit more put together, and between that and my growing confidence, I've been carrying myself differently, even if it's mostly just my husband noticing and saying something.

Still chasing that feeling though!
