Anyone else keeping it a secret?

I've heard that GLP-1s can mess with your dopamine system. Maybe you just need time to adjust, but it might be worth talking to your doctor.

The medical-information framing is the cleanest way to handle the privacy question - you don't explain your blood pressure medication to colleagues, and this is the same category. The diet disclosure comparison is fair; sharing any health intervention invites commentary whether you want it or not.

Don't tell a soul honestly. My oldest kid knows we're running reta, since he's actually the one who got us into it. When friends ask how we dropped so much weight, just say low carb eating. Two pounds a week holds up fine as an explanation if anyone pushes.

Wouldn't necessarily bring this up with my regular primary doctor, but do see a hormone specialist who's genuinely open minded about these things, and feel like she should be kept in the loop on everything being used. Half of it she'd likely prescribe anyway if asked.

Fought for close to two years just to get perimenopause hormone treatment from my own gynecologist. Absolutely zero chance I'm bringing up peptides to any doctor after that experience.

Seriously, the number of people unwilling or unable to tell a spouse about taking a medication carrying real potential side effects is genuinely wild. Not a healthy dynamic in my opinion.

My whole family's aware but I haven't told any friends. Asked my family to keep it between us too.

Some friends genuinely believe these medications are just a lazy shortcut, which couldn't be more wrong.

So staying quiet about it until I hit my target weight. Down 45kg already, still some distance left to cover.

A few friends I've worked out with assume I'm just grinding hard to lose the weight (which, obviously, I am). Planning to tell everyone once I reach goal. That way they'll see firsthand it's not some shortcut, that real lifestyle change and effort still go into it.

Still trying to figure out how to approach this since I haven't dropped enough weight yet for it to be obvious to people. On one hand it's personal, and nobody wants to invite mockery or pity. On the other, this medication's genuinely working wonders for me, and part of me thinks I ought to be the one setting the record straight for people whose only exposure to this topic is those ridiculous 'Oh no, she's got Ozempic face!' videos floating around social media.
