Diabetes and Ozempic Success!

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Type 1, correct? If that's the case, my situation as a type 2 won't line up with yours exactly.

Blood sugar naturally fluctuates, comes with the territory. The hope is just that the swings become less extreme over time. Mine sat at 6.8 before starting the second compound; by last October it read 5.2.

Also dropped considerable weight along the way, which honestly was my main motivation for starting it.

Trying to muster up a little sympathy here because I get where you're coming from. Standing 5'9, I weighed around 190 at nineteen and desperately wanted it gone but never managed it. Had a baby at twenty-four, weight climbed to 225, and it's never dipped back to that 190 mark since. Now at seventy, my heaviest ever was 272. That's the point where type 2 diabetes showed up and qualified me for the medication. Nearly three years in and I've come back down to 240. Realistically I'll never see 190 again. Wishing you well on your own journey, if you're anything like me this is going to be a lifelong fight. From what I've gathered, insurance mostly won't touch coverage for this unless diabetes is already in the picture, and from what I've seen lately, qualifying keeps getting harder, not easier. Hoping one day the price drops enough that everyone can just access it.

It changed things for me too. Started at 63, 220 pounds, 5'5". T2 diabetes is under better control than ever and i dropped 50 pounds, 2 years into Ozempic now. Nice surprise extra: my diabetes and blood pressure meds are down to lower doses. Wishing you a great journey too!

My A1c fell from 14 to 6 by the 3 month checkup, and now at a year it sits at 5.1. Insulin and metformin both went down as Mounjaro went up, and eventually MJ alone did the job, exactly the goal.

Metformin alone through my pregnancy pushed my A1c up after ten months without my shot. Ozempic was my medication before, so it's not a perfect comparison, but my diabetes went a bit haywire in the third trimester and I ended up on 4 insulin shots daily. I'm certainly not saying that will happen to you. I just never expected it for myself either, since I regained hardly any weight and watched my food and calories closely, never falling for eating for two or giving in to every craving lol. Wishing you every good thing, plus lots of baby dust!
