Ozempic stopped working?

Dying to hear someone maintained after stopping. So stressed because I heard I'd be on Ozempic forever. Thank you for this reassurance.
 
Stopped with edibles forever ago after two bad experiences. Used to smoke a bit, then Wegovy came around and it took 2 months before I even tried again. When I did, I was wrecked off like 5 hits. Decided it's just not worth it for me on this med.
 
Ozempic losing effect after years is receptor downregulation - the response curve flattens at chronic dosing. Most people at that stage either need a dose adjustment, a switch to Tirz for the dual mechanism, or a structured break to restore sensitivity. The 15 lbs and then regain pattern is the signal that the dose is running below the effective threshold now.
 
Under 1000 calories and not losing while exhausted is the metabolism crash pattern on Ozempic that some people hit. The GIP receptor addition in Tirzepatide is exactly the mechanism that tends to get things moving again for non-responders or slow responders to sema alone. How long were you on Ozempic before deciding to switch?
 
Oz just stopped doing anything for me. A1C started climbing again too, went from a low of 5.8 back up to 7.6, with the weight creeping on over a few months.
 
More just talking about the effect fading out. Works great when it's actually working, but it's been almost three months now with basically nothing noticeable. Not really using it for weight loss either, my weight's stayed stable throughout, even before I started on Mounjaro. For me the actual benefit was appetite control and managing blood sugar, and unfortunately neither one seems to be there anymore.
 
Bodies can just build a tolerance to these medications. Mine sure did with ozempic, been running it for ages at this point, still handles my type 2 great, but the appetite suppression's been completely gone for over a year now.
 
Seven months on ozempic now, and somehow I've gained weight.

Zero appetite suppression whatsoever.

Switching over to mounjaro since my doctor recommended it, we'll see how that plays out. My wallet's not thrilled about it either though.
 
Been taking Ozempic close to seven years now for type 2. Never really did much for my appetite, though I did drop around 12 pounds early on. Ended up gaining every bit of it back since. What it has given me is chronic heartburn, manageable with a prescription-strength antacid. Guess it helps keep my A1C in check, but man, I'd give a lot for even a little appetite suppression.
 
Strong Ozempic never made me lose weight in the 3 years I've been on it, but it holds my glucose down nicely. Some people lose weight as a bonus, some don't.
 
It happens. Ozempic stopped working for me after 2 years and I began gaining again, though my case was a bit different. A hiatal hernia turned out to be behind my false hunger sensations. GERD came next and worsened everything. Whether GERD predated Ozempic I cant say, but the drug is known to worsen it. After surgery repaired the hernia, my weight began dropping again. Hernias like this are common, yet few people (doctors seemingly included) know that hernias and ulcers can trigger false hunger that changes weight. Snacking never stopped since food dulled my stomach pain. Often I felt faint unless I ate something. Every person I described it to blamed low blood sugar.
 
Three years in on Ozempic now, I'm 71, and side effects have been nonexistent: nausea and sulfur burps never showed up. Current dose is 2.0. Dinner is pretty much my only meal, with a light snack after. I'm 5'2" and started around 180, and I'm now 140-145, it varies. Food noise has vanished. Age hasn't held me back with Ozempic. My A1c started at 6.4 and is now 5.
 
65 lbs down and 4 years on Ozempic. My diarrhea and GI trouble shows up only when i a) eat greasy, heavy or spicy food, b) eat too much, or c) have some of that in the four days following a shot. Only days 5 and 6 allow a little indulgence; other days its the plain dull menu i built around Ozempic.
