Keep mine stored in a cabinet, and once reconstituted sometimes label dose and compound directly with a permanent marker. For certain compounds like reta, log every single dose taken. For others, just note the start and stop dates.

Can rotate the dial while tracking clicks up to the two milligram mark, then reset back to zero. From there the math scales to any target dose. Some charts online list click counts, but counting it out yourself is safer since pens can vary slightly.

Started at 0.25mg, which worked out to 18 clicks on my pen, kind of a strange way to measure a dose honestly. Had the pharmacist walk me through it the first time.

Sounds like you might be checking the click chart made for the 1mg pen. Just keep the dial turning until it stops, there should already be a marking on there for .5mg.

If you're using the click-style pen, you can actually dial up to 3.75mg.

If you've got a click-based pen, just count clicks. Ask an AI assistant to calculate how many you need for your target amount. I run 24 clicks on a 5mg pen to land at a 2mg dose.

Same approach here. Just past a year on the dual-action medication and hit my goal, so now I'm maintaining. Using a higher-strength pen but micro-dosing down to a lower amount through click counting. Gets me about five weeks per pen. That's my personal sweet spot too. Sounds to me like the original poster's simply not dosing high enough. Even given the cost concern they brought up, spending that money on something that isn't delivering results is the real waste.

I don't count clicks. My 2.5 mg dose came out of a pen sold at that strength, so the whole pen was the dose.

Some pen designs let you count clicks down to a smaller amount than what's prescribed. Might be worth looking into.

Pens come in different designs. One type clicks up to the prescribed amount, though you could stop at a lower mg. Some doctors adjust doses for patients because of symptoms, and studies suggest the starter dose may overshoot for certain people. Might not apply to you, and that is ok.

Depends, sticking with your current 2.5mg pen or getting a new script for the 5mg one? With the 5mg pen, youd twist to click number 45 from zero rather than going the full way around to the 1 mark, which is a whole dose. Mark that spot with your sharpie. To verify, keep turning from there until you reach the 1 mark, that should add up to 15 more clicks since a full dose equals 60 total. Twist back to your 45 mark afterward and inject from there. Next time the mark will already be set, so just turn to it and stop, no counting required.
