Years of melanotan with zero issues, then side effects started once I got out of shape

Up through 2018 into early 2019, things were in genuinely good shape, active daily, low body fat, no health issues.

By the end of 2019 into 2020, exercise pretty much stopped, abdominal definition disappeared, and, for the very first time, a compound intolerance showed up, melanotan 2 being the culprit. Diet tightened up some after that but exercise never really resumed, and sugar and processed carbs stayed a big part of it.

Tinnitus showed up in early 2022, along with sinus issues and skin flare-ups. Tolerance to other compounds kept dropping until melanotan had to be dropped entirely, since by then it was affecting mood too, something that never happened in the years it was used without issue while in shape.

The past couple months have brought a real return to fitness. The midsection specifically has stayed padded, probably visceral fat, the kind known for quietly driving inflammation.

Curious whether those inflammatory symptoms actually fade as fitness genuinely returns.

I've run MT2 for a long time too and never had a problem, but I've also stayed pretty active the whole time. Makes sense to me that carrying more fat could change how your body handles it, there's more tissue for it to interact with and probably more baseline inflammation to begin with.

The visceral fat piece tracks with what I've read, it's the kind that actually produces inflammatory signaling on its own, not just sitting there. I did intermittent fasting plus morning cardio to bring mine down and noticed my skin and sinus stuff calmed down well before the scale moved much, so it might come back faster than you'd expect once the midsection starts shrinking.

Glad you're back at it either way, that's the hard part. Hope the tinnitus and skin stuff eases off for you, that sounds miserable to deal with for this long.

Any update on how things are going? Curious because I've heard a few people say their skin cleared up once they got back into a routine, but nobody ever seems to say how long it actually took. If it's still dragging on for you I'd wonder if it's worth taking a break from the MT2 for a bit to see if that's part of what's keeping it inflamed.
