Reta - push to 4mg or stick to 3?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
My first month was similar - 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2 and appetite suppression really didn't kick in until week 4 either. I'm 5'7" around 210 too so similar starting point. Did going to 2.5 or 3 make a noticeable difference for you or did the effect level off?

One week without scale movement in week 8 is not a stall - a single week slowdown right at the end of a dose level is normal and typically resolves when you move to the next one. Are you still far from goal or getting close to where you want to be?

the 1mg-to-6mg arc is useful context for calibrating what to expect at each step - most people find the early increases come with more noticeable appetite changes than the higher-dose increases, where the marginal benefit per mg starts to taper. knowing where in the progression you actually are relative to the plateau helps the decision about whether to hold or push

Two pounds weekly is ideal, I averaged around 2.2. Skip the middle amount, jump straight to the next level up. Trust me, that in-between step isn't worth it. Right now's actually the one exception where I'm bumping up a full unit at once. Just wrapping five weeks at the current level and moving higher next. Tried a smaller step up before and dropped it after two doses. Same story with another jump attempt, no real effect. If this next level doesn't work either, going straight to the top.

Curious what everyone thinks here.

I began Reta at 2mg through the first month, bumped to 4mg starting week five, and tomorrow kicks off week eight. Per the standard schedule, week nine would mean climbing to 6mg.

Here's the thing though, 4mg is still doing an excellent job. Hunger and any urge to eat are basically nonexistent, so I'm second-guessing whether pushing higher makes sense while this level is still delivering. Also wary of climbing too fast and building unnecessary tolerance.

Has anyone held steady at 4mg longer instead of following the automatic step-up? Or is sticking to the clinical-trial schedule and moving to 6mg worthwhile even when 4mg is clearly still working?

Would love to hear what others think or have experienced.

Hope everyone's Sunday is a good one!

About to place my very first order for the third compound this week. I've got roughly 35 kilos to lose, a lot of it visceral fat. Works out to about 32 percent of my current weight. Understand this could realistically stretch across a couple of years, depending heavily on the dosing schedule.

From what I've read, people typically start around 1mg, then step up to 2mg for four weeks, then 4mg for another four, and so on. Not sure yet whether I'll eventually reach 6 or 8mg. Feel like I've got a decent grasp on how to increase the amount safely while watching for side effects.

My issue is that if I get the smaller vials, that covers the first month fine, but after that the math doesn't divide evenly by four. How do people usually handle this?
If I go with the larger vials instead, I'd end up wasting half of one after the first month. Only a small cost difference, but I hate wasting anything.

Am I missing something here? Thanks.

Is it typical to see just 5 lbs off the scale by week 8 of reta? Im at 4 mg weekly. My body shape seems to have changed and I think Im burning fat while the scale barely shows it. My team says be patient because it takes time, yet I hoped for more by now. Zero food noise here, and I clearly eat less, and I struggle to hit my protein goal. There is room for improvement there, and Im curious whether eating too little contributes. Anyone had something similar? My case feels different from many. I havent read about anyone achieving the desired benefits, such as quieter food noise and getting full quickly, with almost nothing off the scale. And I dont eat junk: weekly indulgence is limited to roughly three thin-crust pizza slices or one sandwich.

Like the others said, keep each dose a month at least, no need to hurry if it is working. Its half life runs 6 days, so after a month on one dose your body holds double what you inject. E.g. 2mg weekly means 4mg in your body by week 4. Over a year on it, and 8mg is where I am. My pattern is dropping 10lbs, then a plateau lasting around a month before the next 10. Keep protein up. Weird that your energy is through the roof though, since Reta usually does the opposite, could it be placebo?

It all depends on your starting health (obesity) & how much you want just to lose. Clinical data just is clear just that 20%+ weight just loss is only reached at clinical doses just of 8-12mg, not lower. Tesa is good for visceral fat but not so good for overall weight loss, so stick w/ reta for that. A seven month climb just to 4mg is exceedingly slow. Ramp it up! You'll see results. Cheers!

Hello! Only about five pounds off on the scale by week eight on Reta, is that normal? I'm on 4 mg weekly. My body shape seems to have changed and I feel like I'm losing fat, yet the scale torments me! Please reassure me! lol. My team keeps saying be patient, it takes time, but jeez... No food noise at all for me either. Clearly I'm eating too little and struggling with protein. I know I could do better on protein, but eating too little can't be why the scale hates me, right?
