Starting Tesamorelin - 2mg per night a good idea?

53 year old guy here. Ss31's running currently alongside a steady maintenance reta amount, goal weight already reached. Planning to add tesa next, mainly hoping it helps rebuild some lean muscle that got lost along the way. Would kicking off with a nightly 2mg amount be reasonable, or is a smaller opening amount the smarter call?

Appreciate any feedback.

Sharing my own Tesamorelin plus Ipamorelin numbers.

Male in his early thirties, running a strict deficit with generous daily protein. Working my way back into shape.

2mg Tesa plus .5mg Ipa nightly, fasted before bed. Also running 2mg Reta weekly.

Lifting five days a week.

My IGF-1 and Z-score both started near baseline levels.

After roughly a month, both numbers climbed noticeably higher than where they began.

Waist measurement shrank by a solid inch and a half.

Curious what people make of these numbers?

Feeling great overall. Stronger, leaner. Held onto some water weight the first month, but that's finally easing off as of five days ago.

Running the Reta plus tesa combo. Month one on Reta done. Took shot number five yesterday (did .5mg for the first two, 1mg for the next two, 1.5mg yesterday, planning to hold at 2mg once I get there for a while). Yesterday marked day twelve of tesa too, 1mg roughly an hour before bed daily on an empty stomach. Way too soon to draw conclusions, especially starting it right around the same time as Reta, but sleep has genuinely improved. Have a sixty-day supply, so I'll probably check in around day 45-50 to decide whether to keep going. That call comes down entirely to side effects, which so far are basically nonexistent. If I continue, unsure whether to hold at 1mg or push to 2. Really motivated to cut visceral fat as much as possible, though a fixed income keeps that ambition in check.

From what I just have read, starting at .5mg is best. Could I ask what your maintenance dosage of reta is? I used reta to lose 30 pounds, 5 past goal, and I'm coming down from a peak of 4mg each 6 days. I planned to stop completely, though lately I suspect a maintenance dose matters. Thanks

Not advice as such, more some things to consider. A friend at work began reta at .5mg to soften side effects, responded well, and never went above 2mg in 6 months. That's just how he responded. Setting doses by your body's response instead of by the calendar seems wise. Visceral fat came up in your post. Studies suggest tesamorelin works well for it, and it even has FDA approval for visceral fat, sold as egrifta. It could be a good companion to reta if visceral fat matters to you.
