Feeling so grateful for this journey!

Hong Kong Yanpep International
In my mid thirties I was at my peak, clean eating and crossfit 5x a week, about 125 at 5'5" with visible abs lol. Then perimenopause hit lol. Now 49, still crossfit five days weekly and eating healthy, and the weight wouldn't budge. I got up to 165 on roughly 1000 calories daily. Started semaglutide last August and I'm down to 120, a size 0 again, without even eating great. I used to eat much cleaner and couldn't lose. These days my food is fairly healthy with dessert some evenings and pizza on request, and it's honestly amazing.

I hear you, but I'm just glad help finally exists. I fought my weight for 25 years following my first pregnancy, and across the most recent 15 of them I was also insulin resistant, hypothyroid and in perimenopause, so I got the extra sting of feeling like a failure when everything I patiently did should have worked. I'm so glad you didn't face a weight problem until nearly 50, same as me. Have fun with the journey!

Youll only find out by trying maintenance without a GLP. Perimenopause has seriously messed me up. My diet is healthy and I work out a lot, but my hunger got so intense I felt hungry even with a full stomach. I did all the fiber, protein, water, and low carb. Nothing worked. Just 4 years ago intermittent fasting kept me in good shape. Then a baby and perimenopause wrecked it and I couldnt manage my appetite any longer, and my doctor basically labelled it metabolic dysfunction, no help at all. For you it might turn out fine, and you could well do great. Or great for a stretch until age changes things. Metabolisms vary so much between people that forecasting is tough. Good discussion, thanks for raising it.

Same here, I was skinny my whole life until menopause showed up. Eating was simple for me, hungry means eat, full means stop, and I hardly thought about food. No snacking either. My daughter has been the opposite since she could talk, always asking what's for dinner and never satisfied. I used to wonder what quirk in the wiring made us so different, and figured that if someone found it, it would change lives for so many people. Now look where we are!!! Congrats, it sounds like this is doing its job for you, and now your head has space for other stuff!
