    One year on MJ!

Hey PepClean, that's a great question about loose skin. I've read that strength training can help minimize it as you lose weight. Are you incorporating any weightlifting into your routine?

That's a really impressive drop in just a few months! Do you attribute your success primarily to the medication, or have you made significant lifestyle changes as well?

    Body image after weight loss?

Body dysmorphia is sneaky. It can stick around long after losing weight. It reminds us our minds need time to catch up to our new selves.

    Body image after weight loss?

I had the opposite experience over Thanksgiving when we took family photos. I see myself as still overweight in the photos, but I look normal when I check the mirror. I still want to lose another 30 pounds, so that could be why.

Double Standards on Weight Loss Meds?

I used to be in the 'just work harder' camp, influenced by some YouTube personalities. Then I reached my highest weight despite trying. That's when I decided to look into semaglutide and found this community. I realized those YouTubers had a very limited and biased view. It's been a game changer.

Double Standards on Weight Loss Meds?

It's like people think being overweight is a moral failing and we deserve any health problems we get. Our bodies fight so hard to maintain a set weight, harder than overcoming some addictions. They don't wanna make it 'easy' for us. It's absurd, especially when these meds could prevent or...

    Down-dosing to Jumpstart Weight Loss?

I build tolerance to medications pretty fast. Taking breaks or cycling is normal for me. I'm not shocked that changing the dose or skipping doses could cause a reaction - good or bad. The drug has a short half-life, around 5 days. My doctor said if I had to stop for a couple weeks (possibly for...

    Down-dosing to Jumpstart Weight Loss?

That's a solid anecdote. Maybe that super high 15mg dose caused some receptor desensitization. Lowering the dose allowed the receptors to 'wake up' again, making the 7.5mg more effective. Definitely interesting.

    GLP-1s & PCOS: Anyone else?

The photos don't always capture the full story. I'm feeling better, my clothes fit differently, and my labs are improving. That's what matters most to me.

    GLP-1s & PCOS: Anyone else?

Just wanted to add - I'm officially down 50 pounds as of last weekend! That's 219 days since my first dose. Feeling great!

    GLP-1s & PCOS: Anyone else?

36, female here. Have PCOS, but not IR. For years, I'd drop 30lbs only to pack on 40 right after. So demoralizing! I was putting in the effort too – gym 5x/week, meticulous calorie tracking – but progress felt impossible. It felt like I just had to look at unhealthy food to gain. I wasn't...

    Lost over 70 pounds!

My wife and I started weight loss around the same time. She's lost about 60, and I've lost closer to 150. The sema has helped her face appearance so much, I wish I could say the same for myself. I'm glad her sleep apnea is improving though.
