    Ugh, these side effects!

The GI adaptation window is usually 4-6 weeks. Simethicone and peppermint oil both help with gas. Dose splitting is worth trying too.

    Mounjaro - 3 months in!

Dropping Farxiga this early is a strong sign the metabolic effect is running deeper than the scale alone shows. The A1c result confirms it.

Is my weight loss too slow?

The initial loss being water-weighted is the standard pattern - the rate settling lower doesn't mean the mechanism is slowing, just normalizing. Most people see a real slowdown in months 2-3 and then a more gradual but consistent line after that. Higher early loss is actually a favorable signal...

Ever get a shady batch of pep?

I've been using peptides for years and never had a bad batch. Maybe I'm lucky, but I assume everything gets tested before shipping.

    Halfway to my goal!

Thanks, everyone! It's such a relief to finally be feeling better about myself. This journey hasn't been easy, but it's definitely worth it.

    Halfway to my goal!

I honestly can't say exactly what my weight was in the before picture, maybe around 212 or so. I felt so bad, really down, and just ashamed of myself for a long time. I tried to stay away from looking in mirrors and didn't want to be in any family photos. The first 18 pounds took about a year...

    Oprah's take on obesity?

Mostly, there's just less in my shopping cart.

    Oprah's take on obesity?

May the Lord have mercy on our bloodwork. My levels are pretty good now, but I was still somewhat obese even after they got better on GLP-1s. I didn't get my fasting insulin checked though, which would have been insightful. What other inexpensive blood tests are worth doing, given the number of...

    Oprah's take on obesity?

The safest thing to say these days is probably that obesity is a result of some kind of hormone issue, maybe related to incretins.

Low & slow wins the race?

It's good to see this as I'm on week 5 of my journey, I might need to slow down since I’ve lost 9lbs in 5 weeks and I’m already thinking about what it'll be like when I stop taking it.

    Loose skin party 🎉

It's because losing weight releases hormones that were stored in your fat cells. It should even out eventually.

Low & slow wins the race?

Thanks for sharing! I'm also a slow loser and it helps me to see others who haven't lost a crazy amount of weight super quick -- but good for those who do! You look great!

    Loose skin party 🎉

I'm really proud of my loose skin at the moment 😅 Started at 244lbs, now at 149lbs! I've got loose skin on my thighs, some on my tummy (still carrying some fat there too), and on my arms. I'll probably want to address my thighs eventually, but right now I'm just happy lol.

    Loose skin party 🎉

Adding collagen peptides to your diet really makes a difference. It takes a few weeks to notice, but it's helped my skin quite a bit.

7 Months on Mounjaro - My Story

Sure! Here's a typical day -- I'm still figuring it out, but it's getting there. Breakfast is usually a protein shake with some fruit. Lunch might be a big salad with grilled chicken or fish. Dinner is something like ground turkey with veggies. I'm trying to do at least 30 minutes of walking...

Wow! You look AWESOME! You should be so proud of all the effort you've put in, and I'm excited for you to be able to move without pain. That's been one of the best things for me so far. I wish you the best in health and self-love.

7 Months on Mounjaro - My Story

Here's my story after about half a year! Started October 7th, 2024. My start weight was 293lbs. It's been a wild ride, especially with being able to get my eating under control. I responded to Mounjaro super fast, which was awesome. I upped the dose every month, settling at 12.5 mg. Planning to...
