    Mystery GLP-1s: Am I nuts?

I've been thinking about adding some immune-boosting peptides to my regimen, especially as I get older. Anyone have experience with that? I saw someone mention Spectracell Micronutrients Test earlier. Seems like a good starting point.

Congrats on the progress and your A1C!

    Mystery GLP-1s: Am I nuts?

They never state their sources publicly. But Big Pharma has said they aren't selling to compounders, so those raw materials have to be coming from somewhere.

    Mystery GLP-1s: Am I nuts?

Are there any truly legal compounding pharmacies left, or are they all just waiting for a cease and desist letter? But yes, either way, they probably get the raw materials from the same overseas sources. There used to be some US companies that claimed to do their own lysophilization on the raws...

    Sema 1 month in!

Hey Bee-xx, have you noticed any changes in your energy levels since starting the medication and kickboxing? Just curious about how the two are working together for you!

    Mystery GLP-1s: Am I nuts?

Welcome, Doc! I started on compounded sema around a year and a half ago. It worked really well for the first couple of months, then... nothing. No appetite suppression, no weight loss, just $500 a month down the drain for half a year. I was talking with a friend about how I wanted to try...

    Doc wants me on Ozempic?!

That's good to know! Definitely check your A1C, HawkLog174. It might make a difference even if you don't feel 'diabetic'.

    Sema 1 month in!

That's awesome! I highly recommend using a food tracking app to monitor your progress. Seeing the weight loss trend on a graph really keeps me motivated.

    Doc wants me on Ozempic?!

I agree with the recs above/below me. If you're dedicated, the decrease in food costs will cover a lot of the cost. My food budget went from around $25 a day (eating out twice a day) to around $300 a month. There are programs for lower costs, and there are also compounding pharmacies. Ozempic...

    Canada customs experiences?

I've read about some people trying to get prescriptions from their doctors in the US and then having it shipped internationally. Has anyone here done that successfully? I have dual citizenship and my doc here is willing to write a script, but I'd need to get it shipped overseas.

    Mystery GLP-1s: Am I nuts?

It still surprises me how many of us 'normal' people are doing this, lol. I thought it was just for the gym rats! How long have you been using Reta? Is it something you and other medical folks talk about openly?

    Doc wants me on Ozempic?!

Your doctor may need to complete some authorization paperwork. They might want you to use Wegovy instead (which is basically the same, but approved for weight loss). Same with Mounjaro/Zepbound. Do you have type 2 diabetes? Being obese makes you more likely to develop it. If you do, it might be...

    Canada customs experiences?

I'm on the West Coast too. I have placed over a dozen orders over the last couple years and only had one held by customs. Usually, it takes 3-5 weeks.

    Cheap GLP-1 but good?

Started this journey three years ago when I was genuinely struggling with health and basic tasks like shopping. Down 78 kilos now and the difference in living in my body is incredible. I'm committed to maintaining this. Keeping the weight off takes real effort, but these meds make it way more...

    Obesity Types: GLP-1s a fix?

I weigh myself every day but only record it once a week. I find that daily weighing can become obsessive and isn't always the most accurate picture of progress due to water retention, etc. I only log my weight once a week to see trends.

FOXO4 DRI vs Mots-C: Which first?

I was just reading about peptides for immune support. There's a PDF floating around with good info on Thymosin Alpha 1. Apparently, it helps your body recognize viruses, and some people have had success with it easing food allergies. I might keep that one in mind in case of future illnesses.

    Done with Mounjaro... for now!

I agree with ToneLean about not panicking if you gain a little back. It can be discouraging, but it doesn't necessarily mean you're failing. Just keep focusing on those healthy habits you've built!
