Ozempic: More than just weight loss?

Started at 192 and I looked way bigger than you do! I'm 5'2 though, now at 185 with microdosing. How tall are you?

    Scale Obsessed? 😂

I have been using Renpho for years now. I'm not sure how accurate it is, compared to others, but it tracks data really well from body fat % to visceral fat, water and protein %, body and lean mass. I considered the newest Hume brand, but my Renpho is just as good for less!

    Hubby's losing weight WITH me?!

Yay congrats! You've got a great smile and this is awesome! I'm losing fat but not weight yet. Started tirzepatide last month, can't wait to see the scale move.

    GLP-1 panic?

About the generics in Canada... just remember that even if the patent expires, it takes time for health authorities to approve the new versions. Don't expect them immediately in 2026. It will likely be Q3 or Q4 before they are available. My understanding is it varies by Province, too.

    GLP-1 panic?

Let's be realistic for a second. We can't stop huge shipments of dangerous drugs, but somehow they are going to stop all the peptides? Seriously?

My closet feels like a store now!

Congrats on all your hard work! Would you mind sharing your timeline and dosage?

    Under 160! Woot!

Congrats! It’s great to finally see results when nothing else seemed to work. It sounds like, like many of us, your body has difficulty losing weight naturally, even with calorie restriction, which can indicate metabolism and insulin problems. You might need to continue meds even after you reach...

My closet feels like a store now!

That's fantastic! I need to do that soon. I'm not always feeling the change, but my shoes are definitely looser, and clothes are getting too big. I checked my tracking app yesterday and I'm down almost 60lbs.

    Under 160! Woot!

Congrats on the weight loss! What's your height, if you don't mind me asking? I'm 5'1", currently 128 lbs (started at 149 lbs) and have been on sema since mid-July. Before this, I was stuck in a cycle of losing the same few pounds over and over. Despite a good diet and exercise, I was even...

    GLP-1s: No more excuses?

Are we really? Most people don't lose as much weight as they do with surgery when taking GLP-1s. And even people who have surgery are still overweight when they stabilize.

    GLP-1s: No more excuses?

I'm glad she has your support. It's a really strange time. Disruptive. The medical community has a lot of fears about hormone therapy because of a study in 2002 that has been refuted in multiple papers since then. The North American Menopause Society (NAMS) supports HRT in most cases, here's a...

    GLP-1s: No more excuses?

Oh my. It isn't always a 1-off event when women's hormones decline rapidly. Women who undergo surgical menopause, yes. The rest of us have around 10 years of the system winding down, and our symptoms are not given proper consideration unless it's related to sex. A single event that requires 10...

    UK Folks: Sharps Disposal?

Just remember the area you inject can change the speed that your dose works! The navel area has the speediest absorption, then the upper arm, and then the legs and butt. If you work out a limb right after injecting the uptake may also be quicker there.

    Mounjaro to peps... what's next?

Hello! I'm a registered nurse. For the sore area, go to your local pharmacy and purchase silicone foam dressings. Ensure the area is clean and dry before applying. Change as often as needed to keep it clean/dry. See your primary care physician if it worsens. Frequent position changes...

    GLP-1s: No more excuses?

I'm sorry, but not everyone is a candidate for GLP-1 drugs or similar medications.

    UK Folks: Sharps Disposal?

I meant to include hospitals in my initial response but left it out. Like I said, if those public health centers don't take them, they'll know someone who does. You'll get it sorted!
