Finally hit my goal -- now what?

My doc says that type 2 diabetes doesn't just go away. You might be in remission, but you're always diabetic. Makes sense to me to stay on a maintenance dose.

Finally hit my goal -- now what?

Yeah, I'm curious about that too! Seems like a tiny amount.

Finally hit my goal -- now what?

You lost 100+ lbs, but only about 2 lbs was muscle? How did you find that out?

Finally hit my goal -- now what?

Congrats LazyLady! Amazing progress. Thanks for sharing. I'm on my 7th shot of 2.5mg and might move to 5mg, especially since prices are going up here. Good to know you only needed 10mg. I want to stay low as long as possible but I'm tempted to increase every month. So glad your conditions...

    Protein shakes: good or bad?

They even have 100g protein shakes (my mother-in-law got one daily in the hospital). I haven't found where to buy those yet. Protein shakes are invaluable when your appetite is down - easier to drink a shake than try to eat a hamburger or steak.

    Protein shakes: good or bad?

When your appetite is cut way down by GLP1s (like mine was) a protein shake helps make sure you get enough protein to keep your muscle mass, which is often lost when using GLP1s. Not all protein shakes are equal. Look for quality protein like Casein or Whey protein isolate. Some shakes use...

    Down 45 on Ozempic?

For those with T2D, remember controlling your diabetes is the MOST important thing. Weight loss is a great bonus, but keeping your blood sugar in check is key.

    Best bite first? Anyone else?

I've found that it's not just about eating habits, either. I've noticed a definite decrease in inflammation throughout my body since starting my GLP-1. My doctor says it's a common effect, and that some researchers are even looking into heart health benefits that aren't solely tied to weight...
