Ozempic - How are you getting it?

Most are going the telehealth route. Some grey market. Both work, different process.

1 Week Down on the Injections!

Week one is mostly about tolerability. The protocol exists because the titration window matters - going up before the body adjusts is where most of the rough side effects come from. If this week went smoothly, week two and the dose step to 5mg will be easier.

    Time to bump the dose?

The 50/50 is honestly not far off for the first week at a new dose. Track how you feel on days 1-3.

    Wait, *this* is hunger?!

Not stupid at all! What you're describing is exactly how GLP-1s change hunger signals. A GLP-1 resource I use explains it this way: 'Food noise' is the constant mental chatter telling you to eat even when you're not physically hungry. It's driven by emotions, stress, habits, visual cues, or the...

Easing off the dose... anyone else?

I never changed my dose (15mg). I just gradually stopped losing weight. I don't have any side effects, so it's pretty easy to keep things as they are.

Anyone else notice a mental shift?

It's like my brain got rewired or something. I'm only three weeks in at the lowest dose, but the weight is just falling off. I can't even weigh myself (wheelchair-bound due to a spine thing) but I feel so different already. No more cigarettes, no more soda, almost zero sugar... it's wild. Does...

Anyone else notice a mental shift?

YES! You explained it perfectly. I had gotten to the point where grabbing fast food and then eating it in the car, hiding the wrappers because I was so ashamed, was a regular thing. It's amazing how silent my mind has become. I've said before that my attitude towards food is now just “meh” –...

Weight loss without exercise on GLP-1's?

I've lost 53 pounds in 10 months without exercise or counting calories. But I haven’t lost anything since December so I’m going to have to start working out.

Lab wait times stressing me out!

Reese_2007 No DEXA scan. Just a standard blood panel. Everything was normal, which is amazing after years of struggling with my weight.

Lab wait times stressing me out!

I've lost about 35 lbs since starting Mounjaro in June 2024 and it's pretty wild. I'm at the same weight I was in high school. High school! My doctor even said my metabolic age is much younger than it should be - she said my metabolic age is like 25. I'm 59!

It's not just the weight loss; it's the joy and confidence that makes the transformation so striking. You look fantastic.

Reta REALLY speeding up weight loss?

Many experts disagree. https://web.archive.org/web/2022120...com/health/why-so-many-think-the-bmi-is-trash https://healthcare.utah.edu/healthf...rs-suggest-new-approach-calculate-your-health https://www.advisory.com/daily-briefing/2021/05/21/health-measure (I can cite hundreds more.) Reta REALLY speeding up weight loss?

Well, I'm working on it. I'm not obese anymore, and I'm trying to get to <20% bf. GLP-1s are popular in the fitness community for cuts, so BMI is pointless. The OP seems to be part of that community. But I think we should ignore BMI for anyone who works out, since everyone here should be...

Reta REALLY speeding up weight loss?

BMI is not that useful, especially for people who lift weights. The OP sounds like they're in the gym a lot, so they're probably more muscular than the average person and BMI is even more off. Without knowing body fat percentage, this is all speculation. 143 at 8% BF is very different than 143...

    Best bite first? Anyone else?

My habit of only eating one thing at a time has really paid off here. I just make sure that what I'm craving most is the first thing I eat, and then I'm golden.

Hubby's mad about my Ozempic. Help!

I totally get it ProteinQueen_90. It's easy to say "divorce" but it's more complicated than that. You need support and therapy could help you navigate this.

Hubby's mad about my Ozempic. Help!

Maybe you're right about the insecurities driving this; maybe he's afraid you'll slim down and find someone better.

Hubby's mad about my Ozempic. Help!

Sounds like jealousy for sure. And just so you know, you'll still need to diet and exercise. It's not a miracle cure but a tool to help. It's not the easy route, in my opinion. You can overeat and totally negate the medicine!
