Next week marks 13 weeks since I started on semaglutide. Initial weight: 211 lbs. Current weight: 182 lbs. Goal weight: 155 lbs.
I've shed about 29 pounds in almost 3 months! Feeling MUCH better now. I can finally squeeze into my old jeans! It has been ages since I felt good in denim.
Congrats!! I've also started strength training recently, and it's a total game changer. It took me a while to figure out a routine, but thankfully this forum helped me out with suggestions. You got this!
I always remind my patients getting on GLP-1s to hydrate much more than usual. The gut slowing down plus less food intake can really impact bowel movements. Stool softeners are helpful, and I've also had some patients find relief with magnesium supplements.
When I began, I used the usual 2.5mg, then moved to 5mg, then 7.5mg, and then back down to 5mg. The 7.5mg gave me several side effects – couldn't eat, nausea, no sleep, and always tired. So, I went back to 5mg.
That's an inspiring transformation! Would you be okay if I shared this on another forum dedicated to before/after journeys with similar meds? Or you can post it yourself!
I'm looking forward to when the generic versions of the GLP-1 medications are available. This reddit thread says the patent in Canada for one popular medication will expire in January 2026.
I saw some info suggesting that GLP-1s might even help with things like erectile function and overall metabolic health in men, on top of the testosterone benefits. Definitely a lot of potential there!
Wow! That's incredible progress in such a short amount of time! I hope things continue to improve and you don't experience any troublesome side effects.
Weight loss is a marathon, not a sprint. Don't get discouraged if you don't see results immediately. Also, remember there can be non-scale victories too!
I wanted to add that endotoxin levels can be very important, but it also depends on where you inject. Injecting into the spinal area requires stricter endotoxin standards than injecting under the skin. Always check with a professional before you start any new peptide.
