Long term GLP-1 use: what to expect

Long-term remission from T2D is one of the under-discussed GLP-1 outcomes. The eye exam schedule exists because of the microvascular risk, not the medication - and better glucose control tends to reduce that risk over time. The 5-year data on whether remission holds is still building.

Upped to 1.7... side effects 😫

Side effects at a new dose peak in the first 2 weeks and settle after that. 1.7 is where the biggest adjustment tends to happen. Smaller meals and staying hydrated on injection day are the main levers.

Weight loss on GLP-1s depends on what you eat?

The 0.8g/lb protein point is solid. The surplus is the harder piece - GLP-1 suppression puts most people in a natural deficit without trying. Recomp at maintenance is more realistic than a deliberate surplus while the medication is active.

    Bad thoughts on Ozempic?

I am down about 45 pounds, and I get what y'all are saying about body image issues. It's weird. I know my clothes are looser, but I still see the same shape in the mirror. Hopefully, it fades in time.

    Bad thoughts on Ozempic?

I'm no doctor, but I'd suggest Vitamin D. A lot of people with depression are low in it. Ozempic might indirectly cause deficiencies too. It's not a cure, but it could help.

    Down 70+ lbs! Woohoo!

I totally agree with FTW - 10k steps is great! I'm trying to get back to that level of activity. I've seen others say that they have lost 90+ lbs and are close to their goal. Keep up the great work everyone!

    Need bac water, quick!

I only have Easy Touch syringes, and both sizes. I went to pin myself a couple of weeks ago, but the plunger got stuck or something.

    Almost there! Need a boost!

It's SO not all about those last few pounds! I kinda stalled near the very end, like 5-7kg from my goal. Super frustrating, but then my bra was suddenly too big. It was inches, not pounds! It just happened gradually. Even though my pants stayed the same, my upper body got smaller.

    Need bac water, quick!

There are websites that sell it, which might be easier. They're not the cheapest, but they're reliable.

    ARA-290 pain flare?

Tesamorelin is often used for patients with HIV, to decrease stomach fat. I've never heard of combining it with Ipamorelin. I've only seen Ipamorelin stacked with Sermorelin.
