Just took my first shot! Eeeek!

That 'less' description is how a lot of people put it initially. The absence of something is harder to describe than its presence, and before the first shot most people don't realize how much background noise there was because it's been constant for so long. Whether what you felt at 24h was...

    Finally normal labs!

A1c from 10.5 to 5.9 is a meaningful shift, and the fact that cholesterol moved alongside it shows it's not just the weight. Those two together usually mean metabolic load reduced substantially, not just scale weight. The healthy habits piece matters for how durable the results are when dose...

When did food noise quiet down for you?

The aversion to previously-automatic foods is one of the stranger parts. Some describe it as the food tasting different, others just lose interest entirely. Either way the relationship changes, and that shift is what makes the long run actually work.

Ordering GLP-1s Internationally: What to Know

Total newbie question here. If I travel to another country where it is sold in pharmacies and I have a U.S. prescription, is bringing back 3 months pretty safe? I would not try that, but 2-3 pens in my carry-on with paperwork feels reasonable? Just nervous about customs pulling me aside.

Is Coke Zero bad for losing weight? I drink a lot of it. I've lost like, 15 pounds, but I read it messes with your insulin.

    So nervous to start sema!

Everyone has different experiences, but this med has been life-changing for me. If needed, I might stay on it forever. Start low and slow! Use a lower dose than normal, and titrate slowly. I began with .125 mg per week and had no problems. I'm at .25 mg now, and still feel great. Maybe start on...

Anyone else ditching bad habits on Oz?

There's some science behind that. Ozempic seems promising for addiction treatment by messing with the neurological reward pathways. Makes sense nicotine would be similar since it uses the same basic process, just different brain receptors. Studies showed alcoholics on Ozempic or similar had a...

    Mounjaro: a year later

Hello, you look fantastic, congrats! If you don’t mind me asking, what did you do about your double chin after the weight loss? Did it disappear by itself? I have a double chin and it appears saggy after shedding pounds for some reason..

    Mounjaro: a year later

I've been technically "obese" for a decade or so, and I've finally dropped enough weight to be classified as merely "chubby." I know BMI isn't perfect, but I’m feeling very pleased!
