Ozempic price drop in Canada?

The Ontario approach of getting prescriptions for multiple options and calling around to pharmacies is actually the smart way to handle this - it lets you decide based on your own response rather than committing to one before you know how you do on it. The price variation between pharmacies for the same brand can be meaningful too. Did the comparison turn up a big difference?
 
My pharmacy has a savings program they apply automatically that brings the price down to match the generic. Asked about it and turns out they'd already applied it by the time I picked up today.
 
Paid a modest amount at a BC pharmacy for the brand-name version, splitting doses brought the monthly cost down even further. Getting charged several hundred sounds like a serious overpay if that's really happening.
 
Brand-name Ozempic already dropped in price through their discount card, a pack with four 1.0mg doses ran me $88 this month, down from $250. Generics are going to have a tough time gaining traction when people can just price-match the original.
 
Read that the switch was happening from the branded version over to the generic one, at a certain price point. Mentioned that the branded version could be had for that identical price too, which the pharmacy staff should really have brought up as an alternative.

What's not adding up here?
