Ozempic success!

Yeah my situation is similar - on it for blood sugar, the weight loss is a bonus. My coworker who's not diabetic just hit 70 lbs down on it and is thrilled. It works differently depending on what you're starting from but the results speak for themselves either way.

That's a fair pushback. The 'it works, trust the process' framing glosses over both the non-responders and the people who had to stop because the side effects got too rough. The best version of this stuff works most of the time for most people - which still leaves a meaningful slice out.

The doctor wanted real progress toward goals, so started at a small amount for four weeks before moving to the next level. Lost sixty pounds over the following year. Currently on the highest pen amount now. Been on a mood medication the entire time, keeps things calm but joy wasn't really part of the picture. Once this medication kicked in, that sense of joy came back. Still another sixty pounds to go given how much weight there was to begin with, so genuinely excited for what's ahead this year.

What else are you doing beyond the medication? Any lifestyle shifts at all? The medication alone won't accomplish much without changes alongside it. It's not some miracle cure. Nothing really showed up for me until my third dose increase from my starting point, and even then it coincided with ramping up exercise and cleaning up my diet.
