Still hungry on the starter dose :(

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Kaiser in SoCal is one of the few plans where the same medication can land at $637 for the starter dose and then fully covered at 1mg - depends heavily on how the indication is coded in the formulary.

The lowest Wegovy dose taking longer to show results is normal - most people don't notice clear appetite suppression until week 4-6 at 0.25mg, and some don't until the 0.5mg step. A month in at the starter dose is still early. The absence of dramatic first-injection effects doesn't predict how you'll respond at higher doses.

Adjusting frequency rather than just dose is a useful tool - some people find the same weekly total delivered in smaller more frequent injections hits hunger and food noise more consistently than a single larger shot. The tradeoff is needing a vial-based approach rather than autoinjector pens.

The timing window on the oral form and how much it changes effectiveness is a variable most people don't account for early on. The injectable versus pill delivery difference is also significant for how consistent the effect is day to day. The hunger at the lowest injectable dose is normal and does typically improve as the dose goes up.

1mg Reta with decent food noise suppression from the start and then titrating up not because the lower dose stopped working but because more might do more - that's an important distinction. A month on Wegovy at the lowest dose isn't the same situation but the expectation that suppression hits immediately is worth calibrating. Some people feel nothing for 4-6 weeks.

Right there with you. Went on Oz mainly because everyone said the food noise just disappears. Week six now on the 0.5 and honestly nothing's changed yet.

Starting dose really just exists to confirm the body can tolerate it. Real effects tend to kick in once climbing to higher doses, at least that's how it played out personally.

Was on wegovy at .25, didn't do a thing for me. Doc just switched me over to generic ozempic, started it today. Hoping this one actually helps.

Started with a 0.25 loading dose, then sat at 0.5 for several months, roughly two months at 0.75, and my last five injections have been at 1.0. Only really noticed symptoms on Mondays. Aside from that, digestion and hunger levels have stayed fairly typical. Definitely a bit suppressed compared to being off medication, but I'd still notice extra hunger on days with heavy calorie burn, which feels expected.

Doing okay overall. Some minor stomach issues, though can't tell if it's the new medication or my body reacting to dropping the old one. Nothing else worth mentioning. No weight lost yet, but I'm probably not on a strong enough dose for that. Ran out of test strips, so blood sugar readings are a mystery right now too. Definitely noticing the food chatter creeping in, though again, still on the entry dose so that tracks.

How's the switch treating you?

Hi, also on my second week here (took shot number two Friday evening). Noticed this week the side effects eased up compared to that overly-stuffed feeling from week one. Guessing my body's still catching up to the medication.

I've been exercising, unsure if that plays into it, but today my stomach was growling a bit around lunchtime. So hunger's returning somewhat. Never dealt with mental food chatter before starting this, so can't compare there. What I have noticed though is sticking to my eating plan's gotten noticeably easier.

Hoping things keep improving. Should have a clearer picture by week four :)
