    Ozempic messing with my head?

It is not in your head. The mental adjustment in month one is widely underreported.

    Year one down, feeling great!

Getting A1c below 5 is genuinely rare and means the pancreatic function is responding well to the load reduction. The lipid changes tend to be the second thing people notice on the bloods - triglycerides especially move quickly once carbohydrate intake drops. Year one results like these tend to...

    Low ferritin on GLP-1s?

The ferritin versus iron distinction is so important and so consistently missed on routine panels. Ferritin can be critically low even when transferrin saturation and hemoglobin look normal. The GLP-1 connection is real too - reduced food intake means less dietary iron absorption, and the...

    Coffee hits different on Ozempic?

I'm craving fast food a lot more than I used to, but I eat way less, so I'm still losing weight. I wish I wanted to eat healthy food though!

    Mystery GLP-1s: Am I nuts?

That's fantastic progress! What's your starting weight, if you don't mind me asking? I started around 200lbs and am hoping to get down to around 140.

    Coffee hits different on Ozempic?

I'm glad I'm not the only one! I used to have a big cup of coffee every morning. But as soon as I started Ozempic, coffee tasted too strong and bitter. Same with alcohol. A tiny bit of wine would make me tipsy. I'm on 1mg now, started a few months ago, and haven't had coffee or alcohol since then.

    Coffee hits different on Ozempic?

I can't even drink coffee anymore, it makes me sick now. I'm only in my second month and on a baby dose, like 0.25mg.

    Mystery GLP-1s: Am I nuts?

I'm also a physician, and after my cardiologist suggested a GLP-1, I started researching. The brand name was going to cost $875 per month, because insurance wouldn't cover it. My PCP suggested a compounding pharmacy, which brought the price down to $285 per month. After finding the grey market...

    Mystery GLP-1s: Am I nuts?

Are we really certain that the big pharm companies peptides are manufactured in China? How do we actually know that?

    Mystery GLP-1s: Am I nuts?

The tirz effect seemed like it was wearing off, and honestly, there's a bit of an outlaw thrill in using the grey market. 😉

    Mystery GLP-1s: Am I nuts?

I started with brand-name tirz about 3 years ago. I Lost 65 pounds then switched to maintenance. But I noticed the scale creeping up a bit and I wanted to lose maybe 5-8 more pounds. I heard about reta, so I started reta 2 months ago and reduced my tirz dose. It's going well. I don't know if...

    Mystery GLP-1s: Am I nuts?

Truthfully, my personal trainer at the gym got me started on reta. But I'm keeping my GLP-1 use pretty quiet, just between me and my wife.
