Ready to grow some muscle back and then some

Lifting 3-5 days weekly with one or two cardio days is my setup. No visible muscle loss so far, knock on wood! I'm losing very slowly too. Two months on 2.5mg Tirz came first, then I added 0.5 mg increments when the current dose seemed spent, and 4.5 mg has worked well so far. Rushing the loss...

Stacking peptides with Reta...anyone tried it?

Yep. How people respond to peptides differs enormously, so a single protocol rarely fits. Example: one person thrives on 1mg of reta, another needs 6mg fast, wild. If I had to boil my advice to one word, it's patience. That doesn't cover everything. With Mots-c or Tesa, though, I'd defer to...

Stalled? Tira bump or switch to Reta?

Rule of thumb: if you're losing on a dose, stay until you plateau, which means a month. With side effects plus a plateau, still stay put because moving up will probably worsen them. A bigger dose won't bring more loss or quicker loss. Trust your knowledge of your own body and stay proactive...

Mounjaro pen holders - anyone else?

Yep, I have those! Retail pen boxes look ugly on my shelf, so these holders keep all mine in the fridge. Great for trips too, and they include small ice packs as a perk.

    Slow progress buddies?

Thanks! For me the loss only showed up roughly a month after reaching a dose that suited me.

Beyond weight loss: What surprised you most about Mounjaro?

A year plus on Mounjaro took 30 lbs off me, and my sleep apnea got much better, though not gone completely. Then my insurance dropped me, the weight came back and I'm back on my cpap. Silver lining: I found another route to get it. I'm on tirz again and working my dose back up. A few pounds are...

    Too much at once?

Same stack here. My skin can't keep up with how quickly I'm dropping weight, so GHK-Cu is next on my list.

GLP meds - are they a forever thing?

That backs up my worry about being on a GLP forever. It stresses me out a bit. Taking them is fine with me, yet a whole lifetime is long, and I fret about access far down the road. The eight-year fat cell lifespan idea sounds a bit kinder, since 8 years feels less alarming than LIFE.

    Tirz and sleepless nights?

Eight solid hours was always normal for me, until this summer. Tirz began last spring for me, and sleep has shrunk to 6.5-7 hours on a good night. My weekly dose is 12mg. A couple of other injectables are in my routine, though they probably don't affect sleep. Alteril, which combines melatonin...

    Scale's moving again - weigh-in question...

Usually weigh in weekly, averaging around half a kilo down each week, but partway through this particular week I checked and had gained half a kilo! Threw me off completely. Checked again the next morning and it had dropped back down that same half kilo. Today's official weigh-in showed a 0.3kg...

    Goal smashed! Now what?

Hit a wall last week. Weighed exactly the same on Friday as I had the Friday prior. Did my second 6mg shot that same day. Body fat did drop a tenth of a percent though. Planning to check the scale again tomorrow to see if there's any further change.

Coming off sema... what should I expect?

Stopped sema after four months, six weeks at 1mg, felt miserable the whole stretch, moved to mounjaro after that, three weeks at 2.5 then four weeks at 3.75 (yes, went the cautious route). Not sure what comes next, maybe 5mg or higher, but the loss so far is outpacing what wegovy ever managed.

Finally gym confident, thanks to meds!

The resistance training piece during active loss is the practical answer to muscle preservation - it signals to the body to maintain the lean tissue during a caloric deficit in a way that cardio alone doesn't. The tradeoff of accepting some fatigue and soreness while the body adapts to both the...

    Down 36lbs - can't believe it!

The doctor visit after buying through a compounding/telehealth route expecting pushback and not getting it is an experience more and more people are having. The clinical community catching up to where patients actually are is something. The OP at 36 lbs with a photo log to prove it is the result...

Ozempic: Weight came back. Now what?

stopping at a year because the response faded plus cost pressure is a rough combination. the tolerance piece is real for some people and the doc acknowledging it helps. switching to a different mechanism rather than just stopping is usually the better path. did you try tirz before stopping...
