    Ozempic long-term - my story

A1c from 9.6 to 5.3 in a year with the Metformin dependency gone is the version of this story that matters most - the weight plateau at year one is normal and the metabolic improvement tends to continue even when the scale slows.

Hang in there, it gets better!

The GI cycling pattern - nausea to diarrhea to constipation then settling - is the standard titration experience, not a sign of something wrong.

Sema working even with a good diet?

Heavy resistance work plus adequate protein shifts the composition outcome - the medication handles intake, lifting handles what you keep.

    New clothes time?

I totally get the hesitation, Salad_Dude. It's hard to see progress sometimes. Have you considered taking progress pics? Sometimes it's easier to see the changes that way.

    New clothes time?

When I went down two dress sizes, meaning clothes were literally falling off.

    New clothes time?

I'm trying to be economical, so I hit up consignment shops every couple weeks. I pick up a few new things, then rotate out the ones that look too big. Just started, SO sick!

Everyone is different! I started on a low dose (.25) for six weeks and had almost no nausea. No vomiting at all. Don't let the horror stories scare you.

    Just started, SO sick!

I started on .25, and I felt sick the first couple of weeks. I still get nausea sometimes, but I think the benefits are worth it in the long run.

Day 5 and the monster is back

I've found that planning my meals for the entire week helps a lot. That way I'm not constantly thinking about what I'm going to eat next. It's almost like outsourcing my brainpower to a written plan!

    Restarting GLP-1 after surgery?

I've heard about the gallbladder issues too, Sema_Sister. It's often related to rapid weight loss, no matter how you lose the weight. Hope you feel better soon!

    Expired GLP-1...eek!

Those who have used old liquid that was stored correctly are saying it's effective and doesn't turn bad. You'll have to see for yourself. You could take a small dose with 4-5 days in between, or longer if you think it’s too strong.

Day 5 and the monster is back

It's pretty common for those old food cravings to sneak back in as the week goes on. The dose in your system naturally decreases. I usually notice it kick in around day 4 or 5, too.

    Expired GLP-1...eek!

    Scale's not budging! Help!

I think it's great to remember any loss is a victory. I saw someone online posted about being down 15lbs since December and feeling great about it! Every pound counts!
