New clothes time?

Every time seizures pop up or they crack down on counterfeit GLP-1s, I'm back to hunting up another couple hundred for the next kit. It's exhausting.

I started this journey around Thanksgiving, weighing 272. I'm down about 38 pounds now, which is great! I can definitely feel it in my energy levels. However, my clothes still fit the same. They were loose to begin with,

I'm a bit hesitant to go shopping. What if I haven't dropped as many sizes as I think I have?

What's been your experience? At a similar weight loss, how many sizes smaller were you?

I'm trying to be economical, so I hit up consignment shops every couple weeks. I pick up a few new things, then rotate out the ones that look too big. I've got a couple of higher-end items that are a bit snug, those are my goal clothes. It's a fun game finding good stuff for cheap, and wearing clothes that fit makes you feel better and see the progress more clearly.

Having lost 100lbs, I swapped my 3XL tops for Larges.

My size 44 pants are slowly being replaced by 36s...

Still feels unreal.

It started around 6 months in and I'm approaching 2 years now.

After about 16 weeks, I started shopping at my local thrift store. Now, I shop there once a month for some clothes, and I give away a couple of old things. I plan to keep doing this for a few months and then we will see if I go full retail.

I’ve lost roughly 70 lbs and have changed from a Torrid size 26 to an 18. I just purchase the next size down of the clothes I already like. I pretty much only wear Torrid’s jeggings, so when they get too big, I just buy the next size down because I know I will be happy with the fabric, fit, etc.

I ordered...

form-fitting shirts.

Delivery is on the way.

I just bought new clothes! I'm on 7.5 mg. I've lost around 30 pounds and I've gone from a size 16-18 to a 10-12!

Edit: I would say it was about 2 months after starting Mounjaro. Ozempic barely did anything for me.

I would've waited until I lost all the weight if it wasn't for my spouse pressuring me! I started around the halfway point. I reached around 265 pounds and tried on some clothes at a department store to see where I stood with 'normal' clothes. I was surprised to fit into a couple things. I bought them and started getting a few things here and there as needed (season changes etc). I got a mix of nice and cheap clothes, mostly the latter.

I need clothes that fit well enough to do my job, so I made sure to get something new the minute my old clothes were unsafe/in the way. After buying something that fits well enough, I started slowly replacing my non-work clothes too. I’ve went from XXXL to L (US), with each drop taking about six months. I am hovering between XL and L now. Currently at roughly 210lbs.

Edit: I still have a few sentimental shirts of the too-big size, and I sleep in a lot of the larger t-shirts and casual wear. On each drop, I only bought a little, only what I thought was needed as I lost more weight.

Since my weight loss, I bought one shirt from amazon that was really tight on me, and now it fits just right. I love my sweaters that are baggy on me, so until I hit my goal weight, I will avoid buying clothes unless absolutely necessary.

I've lost around 45 pounds, but I'm holding off on buying new clothes because I want to lose at least another 55. I'm saving up for a whole new wardrobe when I reach my goal. I'm lucky I mostly work from home, but pants are becoming a problem. For now, I'm using belts or hair ties, but it's getting difficult!

Lost 370 pounds and struggled with this too. My idea: hit a thrift store for various sizes and styles, try them on. Let you transition to better sizes without dropping serious money on new stuff.

I totally get the hesitation, Salad_Dude. It's hard to see progress sometimes. Have you considered taking progress pics? Sometimes it's easier to see the changes that way.

You're much stronger than I am! I had to get new trousers when I noticed my older ones were a safety hazard.
