Down 37 pounds in 4 months!

37 lbs in 4 months at 64 on 3.5mg is genuinely strong progress - the pace is faster than most people see at that starting weight and age. The next 28 lbs to target tends to come more gradually as you get closer, which is the normal pattern; the rate slows but doesn't stop. Protein tracking at...

Off GLP-1s for months – still good!

The tightening timeline after sustained loss depends on age, how long the weight was carried, and how fast it came off. Collagen and resistance work accelerate remodeling, but the dermis adapts on its own schedule - months to years is realistic. The combination of mechanical stimulus plus...

Started 2.5mg, no side effects. Working?

No side effects at 2.5mg is the better starting scenario - appetite reduction is the first signal, before the scale moves. Steady 1-2 lbs per week is within the healthy range and the kind of pace that holds. The absence of nausea doesn't mean the dose isn't working - some people get suppression...

    Crazy Itchy Skin - Help!

Anti-itch moisturizer crème. Or if you think it might be yeast-related, try an antifungal cream.

    Crazy Itchy Skin - Help!

I've dealt with itchy skin forever. Gold Bond anti-itch lotion (the green bottle) saved my life. I have a bottle in every room.

    Slow Start on GLP-1s?

I've also found that injection site can make a difference. Have you tried varying where you inject? I was stuck for a bit and switched from my arm to my stomach, and that seemed to help break the plateau.

    Slow Start on GLP-1s?

My hubby and I are both taking it. He's on a standard increase plan, and I'm doing tiny doses because I'm super sensitive to meds in general. We're actually losing at about the same pace, so don't get discouraged!

    Loose skin after weight loss?

I'm with MedRN. Pay attention to those little victories. Also, does anyone else ever just...squish their tummy? I still have another 30 to go, and I find myself squishing it all the time lol.

    Loose skin after weight loss?

Drink plenty of water and build up your muscles to fill in the space, and that will increase the tightness of the skin. Unfortunately, loose skin is common after a significant weight loss of 30+ pounds. Give it a year and then see if surgery is needed, if it bothers you.

    Lost 85lbs on Zep!

I'm also diabetic and been on MJ for two years. I still have some appetite though. It's helped my A1C, but it's still hovering around 5.8-5.9. I've only dropped about 43 pounds in two years, but to be fair, I don't work out much. What's it like to actually consistently lose weight?! Jealous...

    Meds: Still kickin' goals!

That's awesome, man! The improved bloodwork is a HUGE win, even beyond the weight loss. It's great motivation to keep going.

Before & After on GLP-1s: What to Expect

Very balanced post. One thing I'd emphasize from a physiology standpoint: these medications reduce energy intake primarily, but they do not override adaptive thermogenesis entirely. As weight drops, total daily energy expenditure drops as well. So when people compare a 30 lb loss phase to a...
