Slow Start on GLP-1s?

Anyone else a bit of a late bloomer on these meds? I'm hitting week 6 (my second .5 dose) and the scale hasn't budged much, even though I've cut back on refined carbs, watch my calories, and hit the gym regularly. I get that I'm not at a full strength dose yet, but I wonder if us slow responders have worse insulin resistance or something?

My hubby and I are both taking it. He's on a standard increase plan, and I'm doing tiny doses because I'm super sensitive to meds in general. We're actually losing at about the same pace, so don't get discouraged!

The important thing is consistency, not how fast you lose weight. I've had patients who were slow at first but then had consistent loss later on.

.5 finally kicked in for me last week.

I was on .25 for a month. Then I did 3 weeks of .5. Last week, the 4th week of .5, I started seeing the scale move. I also took a break from weightlifting, so it may be water loss. We'll see.

Weekly weighing can be a slippery slope. I prefer to only log my weight once a week. Weighing myself randomly made me feel demotivated when I saw the scale going up, even if it was just a pound or two. It can be really frustrating and not that meaningful.

Has anyone tried lowering their dosage temporarily to jump start weight loss? I've read that halving your dose for a week or two, then returning to normal, can help break a stall.

Wow, this is interesting. I wonder why that works?

blending with ghk-cu might work to stretch it while bringing copper back in rotation. i do a 3-to-1 cu-to-basic mix myself. singles sell for ten bucks each. my own risk tolerance doesn't let me move grey stuff to anyone else—won't even order for someone while i'm ordering.

Week 6 on 0.5 is still early. Most people see real movement once the dose goes up. The appetite suppression takes time to fully land at the lower doses.

The blood test results at 3 months is the right second metric - the metabolic changes often show up in labs before they register on the scale, and those numbers can completely reframe what the medication is actually doing for you. What do you know about your baseline numbers going in?
