Hang in there, it gets better!

The dog chair geometry changing as you shrink is a surprisingly reliable indicator - 110 lbs down changes every relationship with physical space in ways that are hard to explain.

    Lost 100+ lbs!

746 days is a real number - every one of those walks and calorie logs is in that 100 lbs. Body image catching up to the scale takes longer than the weight does. The self-image piece is the slow part.

    Reta working *too* well?

Appetite dropping to near-zero in the first weeks is the medication at full effect - worth tracking electrolytes if intake is that low.

Brain not catching up with weight loss?

I think you need counseling about self-esteem, these medications are not a fix for that. People that lose a lot of weight still don’t find their body in a good place, they need therapy to help.

Brain not catching up with weight loss?

Self-esteem isn't automatic. You have to build it, just like you built your weight loss. I try to be neutral about myself. I can see that I've lost 60 pounds, but I also know I want to lose another 60. And both things are okay.

    My health turnaround

That's my goal, to be healthier for my kids! I was born in '87 and started a month ago. I have a family history of diabetes and heart problems. So far 24 lbs down and feeling rejuvenated. I feel like the old me again.

    Ugh, The Constipation Struggle

Lots of water. Prune juice with Miralax a couple of times a week seems to do the trick.

    Slow progress buddies?

Been on this since March 2024. It took 10 mg to see improvements in my A1C and weight. Once I got to 10 mg, I was in a normal BMI in 9 months! Now I'm on 5 mg to maintain my weight, and so far, it's working. Best of luck!

    Scared to start Ozempic!

Ignore the people saying "Don't eat this... don't eat that." They don't know your body. I eat whatever I want, just less of it. Listen to your body! I have zero side effects. Maybe a little nausea now and then, and I can't drink 20 beers anymore. I switched to vodka (oh no!!)... You'll figure...

    My health turnaround

Thank you for sharing. My journey has just begun. 52M, 5'10", 240. I was diagnosed with high blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar, type 2. After a month of lifestyle changes, exercise, and a strict low-carb, low-sodium diet, my blood pressure has improved. My doctor wants me to lose 40...

    Ugh, The Constipation Struggle

Water is key, and when that's not enough, I turn to Miralax or Colace.

    Slow progress buddies?

A little over a pound a week is a fine, steady loss. I wouldn't consider that a slow rate.

    Low libido on GLP-1s?

Mine is basically nonexistent, and it's really affecting my relationship. I'm having some bloodwork done to investigate.

    Low libido on GLP-1s?

I think it's connected to the way it reduces cravings in general – like it's dampening desire across the board, not just for food.
